12 hours before being rescued. Despite that, she’s healthy, happy, and full of love to give. She’s playful, affectionate, and always ready for her next adventure. Whether it’s hiking trails, climbing mountains, or just being your buddy for any outdoor fun - Nicki is your girl.
She’s been fostered with both small (under 15 lbs) and large (over 45 lbs) dogs, but her rough-and-tumble play style makes her a much better match for medium to large dogs who can keep up with her energy. She can get vocal when others bark, but she’s friendly with all humans and loves being part of the action.
Nicki is still learning her manners and has lots of enthusiasm, so she’d do best in a home without young children or small pets. She doesn’t always respect personal space... the toy poodle can confirm that!
Nicki would thrive with someone active who’s looking for a sport or adventure dog. She’d be amazing in dog sports like flyball, barn hunt, or lure coursing; she loves having a job and learning new things!
She does have some resource guarding tendencies around food and her kennel space, especially with other dogs, but she does well when managed appropriately. She’s crate-trained and fine with dogs kenneling nearby as long as they respect her space.
This girl is affectionate, athletic, and loyal, not a couch potato, but the perfect companion for someone who wants a fun, active, and devoted partner. She’ll keep you on your toes, make you laugh every day, and bounce (literally, she can jump 4-5 feet!) with excitement every time she sees you.
If you’re looking for a high-energy adventure buddy with tons of love to give, Nicki is ready to leap into your life!
Nicki is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 11/21/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30 and noon.
