BIO: Daisy Mae has had a rough life. She was rescued at the age of 8 from an elderly lady. According to the elderly lady’s daughter, Daisy Mae had been with her mother since she was a young puppy.
When the foster rescued her, she came with nothing and was suffering from severe neglect. She had no medical records even though her back legs were paralyzed from a fall from the bed when she was a puppy according to the elderly lady’s daughter. Daisy Mae had not been spayed. She had developed localized tumors due to this. Her teeth had never been cleaned, and she had a severe urinary tract infection. Upon being recused on May 26, 2025, Daisy Mae was taken to the vet for a complete medical assessment. The vet said she could lead a long happy life once the urinary tract infection was treated, tumors were removed, teeth were cleaned and was spayed.
The urinary tract infection had to be treated before any surgery. The urinary tract infection was successfully treated, and a single surgery was performed on July 8, 2025. PLEASE NOTE: Due to her paralysis, she isn’t able to completely empty her bladder consistently. As a result, she can be prone to urinary tract infections which are easily treated with antibiotics.
At follow-up annual appointment November17, 2025, Daisy Mae received her updated vaccines and rabies shot.
Daisy Mae is a whole new dog now - happy & healthy. When indoors, she wears washable diapers and either a jumper or doggy suspenders (which keep her diaper on) while she pulls herself around the house. When outdoors, without diaper/jumper or suspenders, Daisy Mae tries to use her back legs with much success, surprisingly. She will stand up on all fours and walk/run (especially if the squirrels are out.)
Daisy loves being around people whether indoors or outdoors. She enjoys laying on your lap or snuggling on your side when seated on the couch. Although not into toys, she will gladly take a tummy rub.
When her teeth were cleaned, the vet was able to rescue/preserve some of her teeth. She eats a combo of small hard kibble, soft kibble and canned food mixed together. She loves mealtimes.
At night, she sleeps in a playpen (due to her diaper needs.) If she potties before bed, she will sleep through the night.
She loves her stepsister and brothers, following their lead and snuggling with them on the couch. She uses the ramp down from the couch but needs a lift to get back up.
Daisy Mae has a lot of love and joy to give. She loves to talk, at times, but is soft spoken. Although, not keen on crates, she does well with baby gates.
Daisy Mae is super patient with diaper/jumper changes, as well as with bath time.
A potential adopter must provide love, time, and patience. She will reward this with endless unconditional love.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.
We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
