Dumbo received his name because his long floppy ears would drag the ground when he was a small pup. Dumbo exhibited emotional support qualities when he very young, compared to most beagles, he did not bark much at all and naturally identified high-stress levels; he was the perfect candidate for Service Training. Dumbo is trained to (1) stick by the handler's side, (2) Sleep with or near the Handler, (3) Identify high levels of frustration or stress, (4) Alert when the handler is leaving the home (5) accept various levels of handling. Number 5, accepting various levels of handeling is important for Autistic children; they will grab the ears aggressively and through stroking them calm down, they may hit push or even kick and dumbo will not show any aggression or agitation. (I know the aggression sounds terrible but if you have a young autistic child these outbursts can happen and we prepared Dumbo to understand). Dumbo was born 9/1/2018 and is now 14 months old with the above trainings. He will come with a Pet Carrier, Health Certificate, Shots, Neutered and ready to serve a child in need. Please feel free to ask any questions, I am happy to provide the Federal ADA which outlines what is actually required for a service dog; you may be surprised at how easy it is to own and use a service dog. Dumbo is not an emotional support animal; I do have others for that purpose. If you are in a home that does not allow animals, you are allowed a Service Animal according to the ADA.
