My Snorkie, Ellie Mae, Mommy of these precious babies, has a beautiful parti-miniature-schnauzer momma. We wanted to breed Ellie Mae and hoped for some parti-puppies, so started researching. I learned that the Parti Yorkies, or Schnauzers are dogs that exhibit the piebald gene. The Piebald gene is recessive, so in order for offspring to exhibit this trait they must receive a piebald gene from each parent. Our Snorkie had one piebald/Parti parent, so, she is a carrier of this gene. I started my search for a Parti Yorkie to breed her with. In my search, I discovered the Biewer Terrier. Doing more research and after learning more about the Biewer, I was convinced that a Biewer was what I wanted. These dogs were developed in Germany, by Werner and Gertrude Biewer. They raised beautiful show Yorkies, but got a surprise when a litter included one black and white pup. They loved the look and decided to develop a line of Black and White Yorkies that has come to be know as the Biewer Terrier. Since these dogs came from two purebred yorkies, the Biewer is basically a German Yorkie. The Biewer is a relatively newer breed in America - and became AKC recognized as a separate breed in January '21. My husband bought me a small, sweet, registered male Biewer Terrier (Blaze) from Ukraine that we bred with our Snorkie - Ellie Mae. I am sharing pictures of their three beautiful Snorkie pups which are 50% Biewer Terrier, 25% traditional Yorkie and 25% miniature parti Schnauzer. These sweet small babies are being raised in our home and are very loved! They will be a smaller than most Snorkies, since they have a higher percentage of Yorkie -75% and 25% Miniature Schnauzer. The puppies' daddy weighs 5 pounds and the mommy weighs 6 to 6.5 lbs.
