| Overview: | The Canadian Eskimo has been around for over 2000 years. The breed was nearly extinct in the 1970s, but the numbers have grown significantly in recent years. They are very popular in Northern Canada. This breed is best suited for colder climates. |

| Colors: | white, brown, sable, red, black and white, gray, buff, cinnamon, combinations of these colors. |
| Coat: | The coat is thick and dense with guard hairs being hard and stiff. The outer coat will vary from 3 to 6" in length. The undercoat is very dense. |
| Character: | Canadian Eskimos are friendly, happy and determined. |
| Temperament: | The Canadian Eskimo gets along well with children. This breed will get along with another dog, if they are raised together. |
| Care: | The coat needs to be brushed daily, particularly in the shedding season. Bathing is needed infrequently. |
| Training: | Canadian Eskimos respond well to firm training. An experienced owner is best for this breed. |
| Activity: | This breed needs exercise. They don't do well in apartments and need a yard. |
