| Overview: | In the United States and Canada they are known as the English Toy Spaniel. The name "King Charles" is given to the black and tan variety only. The English Toy Spaniel is the ultimate lap dog, as they love to sit by their owners' side. |

| Colors: | Black and tan - raven black with bright tan markings above the eyes, on cheeks, inside ears, on chest and legs and underside of tail, white marks undesirable. Ruby - solid rich red, white markings undesirable. Blenheim - rich chestnut markings, well broken up on pearly white ground; markings evenly divided on head, leaving room for lozenge spot between ears. Tricolor - black and white, well spaced and broken up with tan markings over eyes, cheeks, inside ears, inside legs, on underside of tail. |
