  • German Shepherd Dog-Unknown Mix Dog For Adoption in Baltimore, MD, USA

    Maizie

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Update : Maizie loves to play with other dogs , she's a fun loving girl who loves to play! If her adopter has another playful dog, they would have loads of fun......loves kids, too ! She met a ferret recently and was probably too curious to live with one not kept in a cage .......but as far as cats, she also met one and initially was very excited but over time settled down. She would probably be OK with a dog savvy cat but is too playful and curious for an older sedate feline. Update : Maizie has transformed from a frightened shelter dog to a sweet, relaxed and affectionate young girl ! She's comfortable relaxing at home or going for walks ....she has not been cat tested yet but she's a sociable sweet girl ready for her forever home ! If interested , please email adoptionsallshepherdrescue or complete an application ! This sweet girl was found as a start with her sister/friend and no one came for her. The shelter reached out to us and we were grateful we had fosters open their homes to her, her sister and a " shelter friend ". The " girls" arrive Wednesday and once they start to settle into their foster homes, we will update. If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at .allshepherdrescue. Our adoption fee is $300.00.

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. Deja's foster describes her as follows : a senior lady who is picky which humans and canines she warms up to.....and a probable no to cats. Since she is a senior and not used to children a home with children or at least teenagers would be best . Deja is fostered with another GSD and lives amicably with him ! If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at .allshepherdrescue. Our adoption fee is $300.00.

    Aviva

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Aviva is a hospice for ASR.....we hope that she has many more years but at this point in time due to both her chronic medical issues and her age ( almost 13) it would not be in her best interest to move her out of her foster home. Aviva has a very loving foster family who adore her as well as the ASR Volunteers who have come to know her when she was able to attend events, and love her sweet and gentle nature. As we have done from the beginning, ASR will continue to pay 100% of Aviva's expenses. This includes veterinary care, special food, preventatives , and medication including EPI medication. On average, Aviva's expenses are about $100-$120 per month excluding vetting. We are grateful that she has had a loving foster and also to the volunteers and donors whose generous donations allow us to care for dogs like Aviva. If you would like to sponsor all or part of Aviva's monthly care, there is a link below. To read some of Aviva's past updates check out her page here. Thank you to all of those who have given so generously to Vivi's medical fund. Your donations will help ASR fund the necessary veterinary care to help Aviva. Help spread the word about Aviva by printing a few of her flyers to hand out or post in your vet's office. If you are interested in sponsoring Aviva or helping with her medical /dental care, donations are gratefully accepted via Paypal or by mail to P O Box 23231, Baltimore Md 21203) .

    RIO

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Rio is back with us because, as a herding breed , when he feels his people are in danger , he begins to show herding behavior . He is a lovely dog and is good with people and dogs. Smaller children would not be a good fit because of his size and herding drive. Rio will make an excellent dog for someone who has herding breed experience and is active. With training he will be an excellent candidate for obedience , rally or K-9 Nosework. If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at .allshepherdrescue. Our adoption fee is $300.00.

    Remy

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Collie-German Shepherd Dog Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Collie / Mixed (long coat). Sadly, Remy is an example of irresponsible pet ownership. Surrendered at barely 1 year of age , Remy tested positive for heartworms and will now need this painful treatment. The shelter manager was heartbroken for this dog she described as " a sweet, bouncy and happy pup".....and we are too. One monthly pill could have prevented this disease. Remy can be adopted prior to completion of his heartworm treatment if the Adopter will agree to continue the prescribed care ( activity limited to walks and no strenuous activity for 30 days after the last treatment ) . All Shepherd Rescue will continue financial responsibility for the heartworm treatment. Remy is great with people and dogs, he ignores cats until they run and then he will chase ! Remy arrives Saturday and as we learn more, we will share. If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at .allshepherdrescue. Our adoption fee is $300.00.

    Link

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Update from Link's Foster Mom : He's my foster and I call him Mr. Perfect. Very well mannered, has not been any trouble whatsoever. Takes food very gently, gets along with other dogs (even our male who is normally a butthead with other males), and has a mean bark but a sweetheart and very affectionate once he knows you're a friend. He even seems to LOVE getting his nails trimmed. Whattttttt??!! Link was rescued by a good samaritan from an abusive home but needed to find him a forever home......and we are so happy we were able to help. We are still learning about this beautiful boy but what we know so far is that he is very sweet, rides well in the car and is learning to go up steps ! He was a huge favorite at the vets for routine vaccinations......not that many GSD's are so easy to handle at a vet! Link is a true cuddle bug and if you are looking for an easy going sweet boy, please ask to meet Link ! He has met the female dog in his foster home and tried to play with her .....no info on cats . He has also been fine with the male dog in the home. As we learn more we will share. If you are interested in meeting Link and are already approved please email adoptionsallsheohedrescue If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at .allshepherdrescue. Our adoption fee is $300.00.

    Ally

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). Ally lived her whole till now in an equipment yard, either in a pen or running free at night as a deterrent.......with minimal care. An animal lover/employee was able to convince the owner to surrender her to All Shepherd Rescue ......and we are so happy we could help her. She is absolutely the sweetest affectionate dog.....literally just starving for attention that she didn't receive the first years of her life. She came to us underweight, deep wounds on her back ( trying to dig under a fence for freedom?) and scabs all over her body from itchy skin . No vaccinations at all or any vetting care since a puppy :-( But that's all in the past ! She has been checked out by a vet, getting antibiotics for her wounds and finally getting decent food and a warm place to sleep ! She was fine with a volunteer dog we introduced to her . As we learn more we will update. She is a beautiful girl from Czech bred parents and will be a wonderful addition any adopter's home with some experience with dogs. We know she has never met children so at this point we would suggest a home with kids over 12 . If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at .allshepherdrescue. Our adoption fee is $300.00.

    Max

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Update 12/9: Max has been on antibiotics since discovering his hip implant was infected. The good news is that the antibiotics have increased Max's comfort level tremendously and he is now acting as would be expected for a dog with hip dysplasia who has received a Total Hip Replacement. He is running, playing, going for many long walks and loving life! Unfortunately, bacteria cannot be removed from an implant with anti biotics alone and due to Max's young age, long term use of antibiotics for his hip infection is likely not an ideal solution. Consequently, the plan is for Max to go back to surgery in the new year. At this time, x-rays show that only the cup portion of the implant is affected by the staph infection and the hope is that the stem (the more difficult portion to remove) is unaffected by the infection. This revision surgery would include removing the currently implanted cup and replacing it with a new cup in hopes that the replacement would resolve the infection. The only other surgical option at this time is to remove both components of the implant leaving Max with a tissue joint, similar to that of an FHO. Please keep Max in your thoughts and we hope to have better news in the New Year! Update 7/30: We have recently learned that Max's hip implant has become infected. This was a known and unfortunate potential consequence of surgery, but the small percentage of cases where this occurs was not enough to deter surgery. We are in the process of figuring out the next steps, but please keep Max in your thoughts while we do and we will post additional information as we have it. Max is a very loyal and playful boy in search of the right home. As an added plus, he has a TON of personality! Max is housebroken, well behaved when left home alone, walks well on a leash (mostly), and knows at least a dozen commands thus far. He is great with other dogs and the resident people in his own home, but unpredictable with strangers and visitors, especially in his home. Max's "stranger danger" issues mean that he will do best if placed in a home that doesn't have a lot of visitors inside of the house and with a family who is prepared to work with his social anxieties and fear aggression. If given the appropriate amount of time and experiences, Max does warm up to others, but it is a process that requires time, patience and a good trainer. He has made more friends (canine & human alike) in his foster's neighborhood while on their walks than any dog before him, but in the same breath he's likely scared more visitors away from his foster home than any dog before him. Max was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia last spring and had a Total Hip Replacement of his left hip this winter. He has recovered nicely and is getting back to his normal exercise routine which currently includes several long walks each day. Many thanks to all who donated to Max's Medical Fund ! Now that Max's is healed he is ready for his forever home, could it be yours? If you think you might be interested in adopting or fostering-to-adopt Max, please feel free to reach out to his foster mom at furryfriends24yahoo with any questions you may have! If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at .allshepherdrescue. Our adoption fee is $300.00.

    Skipper

    verified

    rescue
Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier-Border Collie Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Border Collie / American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Skipper's foster reports : Skipper is a super love bug , with people and dogs ...he becomes very excited when he sees other dogs but after introductions is very social and loves to play ! Due to his high energy he is best suited for children over about 10 years old......while he is very friendly smaller children may get knocked over or bumped by his excited greetings . Skipper is very prey driven so cats, squirrels and any other small animals are of high interest to him. If allowed he would chase with a fervor. Border Collie and Lab are his predominate breeds but with his muscular size he also appears to have some sort of bully breed too so will not be adopted to any home where any type pf bully breed is not allowed. If you are interested in learning more about Skipper, please email adoptionsallshepherdrescue
