  • Shih Tzu Dog For Adoption in Conway, AR, USA

    Maggie

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Shih Tzu
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shih Tzu (short coat). Maggie is being fostered in Arkansas Her adoption fee is $150 Transport to the NE can be arranged for approximately $135 Maggie is a beautiful little senior who is 15 years old. She came to rescue under the usual circumstances - her person died and there was no where for her to go. She is a wonderfully sweet little girl who is a completely demanding diva :). She can't jump on the furniture but she likes to be there (or in you lap) so she will bark at you and stand in front of where she wants to be. She will bark until she gets what she wants. She will bark at you at least an hour before dinnertime trying to manipulate you into feeding her early. If you are sitting she wants to be in your lap. If you are going to bed she wants to sleep on the bed as well. She is a good little girl all night long and will sleep at the foot of the bed. She very seldom wakes me up needing to get down. She has a bad eye that we are going to have checked again to see if it is cataract, glaucoma, or infection. Whatever is needed for that she will have. She also has been diagnosed as having a collapsing trachea which causes almost non-stop coughing when she has been active. It is not a condition that can be "fixed" but it doesn't seem to slow her down. She is very tiny and weighs less than 10 lbs.

  • American Pit Bull Terrier-Labrador Retriever Mix Dog For Adoption in Conway, AR, USA

    Jet

    verified

    rescue
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Labrador Retriever Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Sharon Goff (sharonmg68@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet. THIS DOG IS LOCATED IN ARKANSAS. Jet is one of those breeds - you know - the breed that always gets blamed when bad things happen - a Pit Bull Terrier! But apparently Jet was raised right because he is a fine example of what that breed can be - loyal, loving, well-mannered, smart, gets along with other dogs, likes cats, and probably would be good around children. He also has webbing between his toes so is probably part labrador retriever. Jet belonged to an elderly couple and when the man died, the woman was placed in a nursing home and Jet was left behind to fend for himself. There were a couple of young pups who were abandoned as well and Jet took over their care, acting just like a mother dog would. He and the pups started making the rounds of the neighbors and found a nice couple who gave them food, water and shelter. They would have liked to have given them homes but the couple are gone a lot with their jobs and they also live right next to a highway with no fenced area. Jet is now in a foster home with lots of other dogs. He likes his foster home but Jet LOVES attention and LOVES to play - he would really like a home where he has a buddy to play with and can be part of his human's family. Jet has done wonderful on his crate training and house training. He needs more work on his leash training .... just needs someone who has the time to walk him and teach him what he needs to do. Jet is very smart, learns quickly and strives to please. It is hard to tell how old Jet is - he is well-mannered and reserved like an older dog and then he breaks out into playful behavior like a young dog .... so we are going to guess his age at two years old (estimated date of birth as 7-1-13). Jet has been neutered and received all of his vaccinations including bordatella and rabies. He tested negative for heartworms and has been started on monthly heartworm preventative. For more information on Jet, contact Sharon at sharonmg68@yahoo.com

    Ariel

    rescue
    Breed: Pointer-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pointer / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Sharon Goff (sharonmg68@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet. Ariel is a female white and tan pointer mix. Her estimated date of birth is 4-1-17. She weighs about 45#. She is listed as special needs because she has never been taught any manners or commands. Ariel is a strong, energetic girl and too much for her foster mom to handle. She will need someone who has the time, patience, understanding and knowledge to teach her. Ariel LOVES treats and she LOVES people so these traits will definitely be a huge help in her training. Another reason that Ariel is listed as special needs is that she is very prey driven and HATES small dogs and cats. She was found as a stray at a large truck stop. The people that found herhad her on a chain in their yard and their small dogs and cats were allowed to run loose. Perhaps their parading around her caused her hatred but she will kill them if she can get to them. The third reason that Ariel is listed as special needs is because she is heartworm positive. She has been started on heartworm treatment and her new owners will need to continue this treatment until she tests negative. Ariel has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations, including rabies. For more information on Ariel, please contact Sharon at sharonmg68@yahoo.com

    Abigail

    rescue
    Breed: Australian Shepherd-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Please contact Sharon Goff (sharonmg68@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet. Abigail is a bit bigger than a typical Blue Heeler. Her foster mom was told that she was a heeler/shepherd mix. She is a stunning dog who is very friendly and playful. her estimated birth date is 4-1-15. She has gotten a bit chunky since these pictures were taken because she is not able to get enough exercise due to the fact that her foster mom has so many fosters. Abigail is listed as special needs because she has never been taught manners or worked with. She is a very strong girl who has never been taught to walk on a leash and will just circle around you. Her foster mom is a small woman in her 60's and Abigail is too much for her to handle. Abigail LOVES people and she LOVES treats! With the right person with patience, knowledge and time to train her, she could become a truly awesome dog. Abigail got along with the other free roaming dogs in the area where she came from. Her current playmates are a male pitbull mix and a female terrier mix. Abigail is around cats in her foster home and would love to play with them if she could. Her previous owners had small grandchildren who were afraid of her because she was so rambunctious. She probably would do well with older children who could play with her. Abigail is not able to be one of the "house dogs" because there is no room. So she spends her time in the backyard or in a crate on the puppy porch. Housetraining should not be a problem once she learns her new routine. She will only be adopted to someone who will make her an inside dog and part of the family - that is her dream! Abigail has been spayed and brought up-to-date on her vaccinations including rabies. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventative.
