    Tenny ❤️...

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shepherd / Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 175.00. Handsome Tenny was found in a building, unable to walk and with a shaking head. Tenny had a vet examine including a series of x-rays. The x-rays did not reveal anything abnormal and it was determined that Tenny had suffered some neurological damage and would require special care. Despite his difficulties, Tenny has been quite loving and he deserves a chance at a happy life. Some might say Tenny has had it rough but don’t tell him that – Tenny has one positive attitude and seems determined to enjoy life despite his challenges. Tenny has adjusted to his limitations and doesn’t let anything slow him down. He loves to play and run around outside, doing a unique kind of hop with his back legs because they tend to stay together when he runs. He is as sweet as can be, loves attention and enjoys being petted. With treatment and time, Tenny’s health has improved, but due to the neurological damage he sustained, housebreaking might be improbable. Future visits to a neurologist as he continues to grow might offer further insight and recommendations for care. Tenny needs a very special family; patient and understanding of his unique needs and able to provide him the ongoing care and support he may require for the remainder of his life. In return, this inspirational dog will give you unconditional love and loyalty. If you’re that special person Tenny is searching for, please contact his foster mom at Karen.wimberlyyahoo. Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 285. Odie is thought to be a JRT mix. He loves to be outside so we prefer a home with a fully fenced yard. When done with his outdoor adventures, he is content to be by his humans, but requires a home with children 12 and over only. He lives in a foster home with other dogs and does great with them most of the time, but an be possessive of his toys. A home where he is the 'only child' would be great as well! Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 75.00. Free would do best in an only dog home. She does love the company of other dogs. However, for meal time only, she can be protective of her food from other animals. She cannot be roaming with other dogs when dog food is distributed amongst the bowls. She must be crated and away from other dogs. Free is a truly remarkable little lady! She is 7 years old and still a bundle of playful fun energy. She loves her walks and playtime, but she is also down to chill on the couch with you once she gets her energy out. She bonds really closely with her adult people. She is ok with kids but not overly interested in them so while she would be a great family dog if you are looking in particular for a calm dog for small young children she may not be the best fit. If you currently have pets she will need to meet them. This girl has been through so much. From being betrayed by her family, to surviving heart worm and a dog attack. She wants to live and be loved. She has been waiting to be chosen since Sept of 2016. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a very caring person. You will still need to go through the adoption process. She will not go home to just anyone. She needs a home for the rest of her life, where no one will ever let her down again. Please please consider this great dog, she will reward your life richly. Free came into the rescue after an urgent plea by a college student that was desperate to save her! This wonderful human being saved her from a family that was giving Free away that was going to euthanize her when the last day came and no one had taken her. She was so desperate to save this dog's life that she slept in her car with Free for 3 days! She could not bring Free to her parents' condo due to the breed discrimination of the condo association. She did not have any money, no food for herself, but made sure Free was ok! Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Breed: Chihuahua-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 75.00. Cosmo is a cute senior Chihuahua mix. He is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. He warms up to people after a few days. He loves to go for car rides and snooze in his bed. He is not a particularly active dog, but does enjoy wandering around outside in good weather. Cosmo has arthritis in his backside and takes medication for pain management. Steps pose a challenge for him because of his arthritis, so a home with no stairs or just a couple would be great. Cosmo also has a significant heart murmur as well as age-related vision and hearing issues typical for senior dogs. Due to neurological issues, Cosmo is not reliably house trained. He gives little to no sign when he has to potty and will have accidents in the home unless picked up and carried outside frequently. Cosmo is afraid of most dogs so we are seeking a dog-free home for him OR a home with another senior, calm dog. He is easily frightened and responds with growling and biting at other dogs. Cosmo needs a patient, tolerant family that will accept him as he, allowing him to enjoy his golden years in peace and quiet. Posted Breed: Great Dane / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 285.00. Say hello to Halley aka Maddy. Halley turned 1 year old on March 15th. She was adopted as a puppy, but returned due to 'high anxiety and energy". Although described as 'incredibly sweet and loving," there were concerns because the family has two very young children. Halley had a full behavioral assessment, which includes diagnosis, training and behavior modification recommendations, and use of supplements [i.e., medications, calming oils, etc.] Halley is a big girl even at 11 months, weighing 60 pounds, so a home with children older than 12 is necessary. Halley requires an active family, that will adhere to the Behavior Assessment recommendations and put in the extra effort and time so she can blossom into a well balanced and good canine citizen. Halley is UTD on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Romeo ❤️...

    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. Adoption Fee: 250. Romeo embraces life with joy and enthusiasm. Whether he is wrestling with the “big dogs”, running carefree through the backyard, or desperately trying to find those elusive cats, he looks and acts just like any other dog. However, Romy was born with multiple strikes against him. He is blind and has a severe heart defect that will require lifelong medication. Despite this, Romeo’s wonderful personality wins the hearts of everyone he meets. His limitations do not hold him back. He loves people and he greets everyone with a special spinning dance when they walk in the door. While he cannot see, his ears and his nose give him all the information he needs about his world. Don’t try to sneak a snack – although you think he is sound asleep, he will smell it and be next to you in seconds asking to share! He loves going on walks, playing with his squeaky toys and chewing on his bone next to the other dogs. He is not big on cuddling, he wants to be on the go and part of the action. When he gets sleepy, though, you may get lucky and get to snuggle! Romeo is looking for a very special forever home. He loves other dogs and would really love to find a family with another dog to live with. He is overly fond of chasing cats and it would be best for him to not live with any. He also loves to run free, but since he is blind a fenced yard would be preferred to keep him safe. Previous experience with blind dogs would be a plus but not necessary – just a willingness to learn! Cattle dogs are smart, and he can be trained to do anything sighted dogs can do. In fact, this breed needs mental stimulation to be happy. He will need his medications for the rest of his life and follow up monitoring of his heart. If you think Romeo might be a match for you, we can set up a meeting. He just might steal your heart!! HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. Lance - STOR...

    Breed: Bulloxer
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer / American Bulldog / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $285.00. Lance is an active happy one year old pup that now is able to walk several miles a day, run, jump, and do pretty much everything a normal dog will do. Lance is sixty pounds of pure puppy joy. He is a gentle and loving dog with amazing blue/gold eyes. He loves people and adores snuggling with his people. Lance has an amazing can-do personality and playful nature. LANCE'S BACKSTORY Lance was found injured on the streets of San Antonio in April 2017. He was given a bed, and some time to recover. After a few weeks, Lance was listed for Euthanasia. Lance was was unable to sit or stand. He could not use his front legs well enough to be put in a regular wheelchair. At first, nothing could really be found to pinpoint his injury, so he was started on gentle physical therapy and then swim therapy. He was given good food, lots of loving care, and started to use an all supportive wheelchair. About two months after his rescue, Lance started to stand up and later he began to walk. Lance came to Michigan July 2017. He captured the hearts of his transporters with his stunning eyes and vivacious personality. One volunteer asked to transport him the rest of the way to Michigan to his home, she was so taken with him. Lance began to run and jump in his new home. He was improving at a tremendous rate. After further vet assessment it was discovered he had dislocated a vertebra in his neck, just in front of his shoulders but that the area was stabilized and should not cause any issues in the future. Lance wears a gentle leader head collar that puts less stress on the neck area as a harness/collar could put too much pressure on the old injury site. Lance has feet that turn outward but although he looks a little different, he has no problems with mobility. Lance is eating a raw all natural diet, supplemented by premium dog food. He is on no special medications, but will need a patient and caring adopter to help him as his nerves continue to regenerate in his hindquarters. He is housetrained except for episodes of excitement that he sometimes cannot control. He likes to be clean and works hard to stay that way. With a little management he is pretty successful. Lance is now ready to look for his forever home, and in his current foster home has learned to walk on a leash, and he is also crate trained. Lance attended obedience training and knows many commands. He seems to want the company of other dogs, and likes to try to do whatever they do, so a laid back dog that knows the ropes would be an asset in his next home. Although Lance lived with a cat in his previous foster home, and has been around cats in his current home, he does show too much interest in them for us to recommend a home with indoor cats. Lance has played with older children briefly, but because we do not know his background Lance will be placed in a home with older dog-savvy children (10 and up). We are looking for a very special adoptive family for him that will be able to help him continue on his amazing journey. If you think that could be you - please send an inquiry today! Lance is fully vetted and microchipped.

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 285.00. Hi, please let me introduce myself, my name is Sarah and I am a Lab/Jack Russell Terrier. I am house trained and crate trained, and love to go on walks and sniff around a securely fenced backyard. Did I tell you that its me that pick all the tomatoes from the plants in the yard ? I am also spayed and have had all of my shots. Sarah was badly treated by her first human family, and she finds it hard to trust new acquaintances. She needs an owner that can give her guidance (and plenty of treats) in situations when she feels insecure. After meeting a trainer Sarah have improved a lot and she responds to her special verbal command. A training class would be a great adventure for Sarah and her new family. She will excel and perform as an A-student, she likes to learn and is eager to please. Building a relationship with Sarah will be time well spent, once she has overcome her insecurity and fear she is a GREAT active, loyal, and loving dog. Please come and meet me, I need is a chance to find my permanent home. Older children only please. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption.
