    Taffy (S)

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Taffy! This gorgeous boy was born around 3/3/2016. He is on the smaller side and full-grown at 75 pounds. This stunningly handsome pup is complete joy to have around. He is always smiling and angling to lay by his humans to receive pets and give hugs! He just can’t seem to get enough! He wants to be the only dog in the house, so he can have your undivided attention. He should live with adult humans and older children, because his “Pyr paw” is a little too strong for small kids. Sweet Taffy is house trained, leash trained, and rides quietly in a car. The best part about Taffy is that you can tell how grateful he is about everything - food, a warm bed, affection. All of it is so exciting to him; the kisses he gives in appreciation are so rewarding. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $275 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt! If this Gentle Giant looks like the one for you, fill out an adoption application today! 2. Foster! This is a temporary commitment that gives all dogs in need the assured time to find the loving home they deserve. Your benevolent decision to foster unquestionably determines whether a loving dog gets to live or die. 3. Donate! Safeguarding these Gentle Giants result in expenses that are in upwards $8/day. If veterinary care is needed, the costs exponentiate to $1,000+ for a single dog. Every penny you donate makes an impact when it comes to vet bills! If you were to make a one-time donation of just $25, you would be adding 3 more valuable days to the life of every rescued dog and provide the chance to find the home they have been waiting for their entire life. As always, all donations are gratefully accepted. If you are interested in adopting this dog or need further information, please contact GPRS at info@gprescuesociety.org or fill out our SHORT application form. Every dog adopted thru the GPRS program is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered and on heartworm preventative.

Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Rocky! This affectionate Great Pyrenees mix was born around 4/4/2015. He is super gentle with children, and loves being by your side every moment you’re home. When he was picked up at the shelter, he got in the car and laid down right away. Within an hour of getting home, he was playing with the family, flopping on his back for belly rubs, coming to his new people for head scratches, and showing off his ever-wagging tail. He is house trained, leash trained, and doggy door trained. He knows the commands for sit, down, come, wait and of course “belly!” He loves car rides and going for walks to meet new people. He gets along well with other dogs and is nice to cats. He’s not a big barker, but when he does, it is an impressive deep bellow. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $275 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt! Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Buddy Love! This beautiful, funny boy was born around 11/11/2007. He has the most adorable flecks of brown freckles on his ears. He is 100 pounds of sweetness. He is totally goofy! He is twirls in circles of excitement when you go to pet him! He smiles all the time. He is a living speed bump and loves lying on a soft bed inside. His other favored activity is bathing in the sun outside, surveying his domain. Sometimes he’ll get a burst of energy to chase bunny rabbits. Mr. Gorgeous wouldn’t mind being the only dog in his new home. He tolerates other big dogs, but he’s not interested in playing with them. He is not super-thrilled with small dogs, because he doesn’t like his belly being sniffed or being walked under. He accepts living with cats. Buddy has lost his hearing. He has already learned five hand signals, and he loves being able to understand and comply with what his human wants of him. Buddy is house trained, leash trained, great in a crate, uses a pet door, rides well in a car, and loves going for walks. He is shy about going potty on leash, and he prefers to modestly do such things in the privacy of his own yard. So he might not be the best choice for someone living in an apartment where he would be required to do his business on leash. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! I'm a sweet, gentle, drooly guy who gains fans everywhere I go with my beautiful coat and giant Disney face. I love people so much that I will stand and lean against strangers at the vets office, or sit and let kids pet me at the burrito stand. I'm happiest in my foster moms lap, or at least where I can see her. I always let her know if someone is outside the house and make sure they don't dare come near unless she says it's ok. I come running when I'm called with a big happy smile, I sleep through the night, I love riding in the car and I love being walked on a leash (though I'm kind of a slow lumberer.) I love playing with my foster sister, but I sometimes feel anxious around male dogs, so I would be happiest in a household with only a mellow female dog, maybe a submissive male, or I could also be an only dog with a loving human companions. I haven't always had enough to eat or received enough affection, so I sometimes get anxious about food, or pushy about snuggling. I don't EVER try to take my foster sister's food, and only ever worry if I think someone will take mine. But as long as I'm left alone while I eat, I'll walk right by my foster sister eating and go lie down. I will even sit for treats right next to her, and patiently wait my turn. After just a few short months in my foster home with plenty to eat and plenty of love, I'm feeling more relaxed every day, and will continue to blossom with patience and understanding. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $275* Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Max! This affectionate boy was born around June 1, 2013, and he weighs 90 pounds. He is the perfect combination of playful and easygoing. He loves cuddling with his humans and is good with older kids. He gets along great with big male and female dogs, and he is respectful of dogs that don’t want to play. Given his exuberance, he would do best with a big, active doggie companion to help him expend his energy. If he is the only dog in the house, his humans will need to keep him active with walks, playing, and various adventures. He is very spirited and needs lots of room to run and play. He still loves his toys! Max is house trained and rides great in a car. He is great on leash, and likes a quick pace, maybe even a jog! He loves meeting new people along the way. He hasn’t been around cats or small dogs, so we don’t know how he would do with them in the house. Max loves to be outside whether he’s playing, or just laying in the grass, content as can be. He barks sometimes when he needs to warn you about something, and he has a lovely, deep, muted bark. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Breed: Great Pyrenees

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Chandler is a very friendly boy that at our best guess is 5(?). He has definitely had some hard times, which can be seen from his front leg that was broken and healed improperly. This doesn’t affect his spirit, but it does look different. Chandler has had a difficult time adjusting to live inside, and would be better suited to continue to have some kind of job working or some variation of being outside watching the yard and in a garage sleeping at night. He was a working dog before he came to the rescue, and his work ethic shows. He is good with pigs, sheep and chickens. He has taken to guarding the sheep well, but still has some issues with animals around him while he is eating. His foster parent, whom Chandler trusts, can walk by him, pet him, and take his food away while he is eating, but when the farm animals like sheep and chickens come around while he eat he can become protective. He takes some time to adjust to new situations, but is a sweetheart once he trusts you. Breed experience is a must with Chandler, he can be quite headstrong if he doesn’t trust you to lead him properly. He would be best as an only dog, or with a slow introduction maybe a female. He interacts minimally in his foster home with other dogs, preferring to follow his charges or his foster parent. His foster situation gives him the opportunity to be around young excited children as well, and he does extremely well with them. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $275 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt!
