  • American Pit Bull Terrier-Unknown Mix Dog For Adoption in Westmont, IL, USA

    ZOEY

    verified

    rescue
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Introducing Zoey, a loving, a 3-4 year old, 55 pound Pit Bull Terrier mix. This sweet special girl has had a rough past but she is now ready for a committed adopter. She is considered a "special needs dog" because she has allergies and requires a specific diet AND an informed owner who will be dedicated to her needs. Zoey is incredibly sweet and loves her humans. Her one favorite thing - going for walks. She is pretty active so daily walks and play time in the yard is great for her. Once back home from her walks, she really enjoys snuggling with her foster dad. She doesn't have much interest in playing with toys. Zoey was on the run as a stray for a couple weeks so we don't know what all she encountered, but she is dog selective; despite her having lived with dogs in her foster home, she remains selective so we are seeking adoptive homes where she will be the only dog in the home. Zoe has the happiest wiggle but and gives the best big kisses. She has that perfect Pitty smile and will gladly show it off with lots of loves. She cannot live with cats - she is allergic to them (in addition to a variety of other things). This beautiful girl has been examined by licensed veterinarians, spayed, inoculated against diseases, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases and placed on monthly preventatives, plus microchipped. In addition, Zoey has gone through some allergy testing. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available for online completion and submission through A Caring Place's website, .acaringplacehs OR by requesting a paper application through our email, acaringplacecomcast A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. HOLLY

    rescue
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Husky Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $375. This cutie-pie is HOLLY. She was born around the end of October so she's about 14-15 weeks old right now and about 20 pounds. We expect her to grow to at least 50 pounds. Holly and her sister, Ivy, are Husky/Pit Bull mixes; they were rescued from a rural pound in Kentucky right before Christmas. Holly is a little smaller than her sister and is very sweet and loving, a bit cautious, but inquisitive and interested. She loves kisses and cuddles, tennis balls, and playing with her sister as well as the adult dogs in her foster home. Holly has learned to sit and is about to start puppy training class. Holly's foster mom says she is a smart pup who catches on quickly. Adopters will need to be dedicated to continuing to work on housebreaking. With the challenging weather, it has been hard to get Holly and Ivy outside for potty training. As with any puppy, Holly will need an adopter who has time and willingness to dedicate to training and exercise; she has a lot to learn and will need to continue learning good manners from her adopter to make her a great companion. Holly has been examined by veterinarians, received a series of age appropriate inoculations, been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. Posted Breed: Husky / American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 375. Hi! My name is Ivy and I am most likely a Siberian Husky/Bully breed mix. I was born around the end of October so I'm about 14 weeks old right now. I weigh 25 pounds right now and am growing quickly so the ladies at the rescue think I will definitely grow to be over 50 pounds. I got my name because my sister, Holly, and I were rescued right before Christmas from a rural shelter in Kentucky. My foster mom says I'm a smart puppy who is a quick learner albeit a little stubborn at times. She says I sometimes talk back to her (that's my Husky parts) when I really want something but am as sweet as they come. I do love playing with my sister and my foster siblings and have been taught the "sit" command. My foster mom has me registered for puppy training class so I can continue working on good manners and obedience training. My adopter will need to continue helping me with housebreaking. As with any puppy, Ivy will need an adopter who has time and willingness to dedicate to training and exercise; she has a lot to learn and will need to continue learning good manners from her adopter to make her a great companion. Ivy has been examined by veterinarians, received a series of age appropriate inoculations, been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. ADOPTION FEE is $375. PENNY

    rescue
    Breed: Chihuahua-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. “Hey, you see me, right?” Oh goodness - how cute is Penny, a 1 year old, female, Chihuahua mix, weighing about 15 pounds. Her foster mom says she is SO sweet! Penny has a lot of personality and energy, which is appropriate for such a young dog. She actually likes to hang in her crate if you’re in the room with her but she’s not a fan of being left alone inside of it so her foster mom is trying to help her be more comfortable. Otherwise she’s quiet and just likes to run around the house and sit in my lap. Penny absolutely looooves to play with other dogs, especially her foster mom’s dog - they are best buddies. She is very active and likes to chew and rip up toys. She continues to be afraid of new people visiting the house and will bark and growl (fearful) and then runs away from them. She will need time to acclimate to her adopter’s family/home AND will benefit from some work with trainer to help her feel more comfortable. Penny is housetrained and has learned how to sit on command. She’s one smart cookie! Penny is approved for households with adults. She’d benefit from a fenced in yard; she has great recall and will comes inside immediately when her foster mom calls her name. She would do best in a household with another small, younger dog who would enjoy an active playmate. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, spayed, inoculated, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases, placed on monthly preventative, and microchipped. LULU

    Breed: Jack Russell Terrier-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Introducing LULU, a loving, 5-6 year old, 13 pound Jack Russell Terrier mix who was surrendered to A Caring Place when her owner was moving. Lulu is a very loving girl who has been good with respectful children, and has good house manners. Lulu is initially shy and reserved but once she feels safe with you she becomes playful and enjoys your attention. Lulu wants to sleep super close to her foster mom - sometimes laying on her tummy/chest. Lulu presents her toys to her foster mom and seeks out play with her. Lulu has been very good with the other dogs in the foster home. Lulu enjoys walks and playing with her toys but while her foster mom is at work, she's snoozing on the bed. Lulu is a good little watch dog who will bark when doorbell rings or if she senses someone is near the yard. Lulu can easily live with other small to medium sized dogs who are easy going. She would enjoy a family who will include her in their daily lives, spend time with her snuggling on the couch and going for little walks. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided inoculations, dewormed, tested for heartworm and other parasitic diseases, plus spayed/neutered and microchipped. Breed: Mountain Cur-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Mountain Cur / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Introducing ROXIE, a 10 month old female mixed breed dog that we suspect is a Mountain Cur mix. Roxie was a stray who came to our rescue from Kentucky where this breed is more prevalent. She currently weighs about 40-45 pounds and has a beautiful brindle and white smooth coat. Roxie can be unsure about other dogs so her adopter would help her most by going through obedience training and socialization classes. She is curious, inquisitive, and active which can get her into a little bit of trouble if not watched - she's a puppy so it's only natural - so she'd thrive with adopters who enjoy regularly playing with their puppy. Additionally, Roxie would benefit from an adopter who enjoys teaching their dog skills and tricks. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, tested for parasites and Heartworm Disease as well as tick-borne diseases, inoculated, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. LOKI

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Queensland Heeler (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 325. This very handsome boy is LOKI, a 3 year old, 45 pound, Queensland Blue Heeler who came to us from Kentucky. He is a very loving and joyful dog who gives grand greetings any time you come back home. Loki has been good with most other dogs and is respectful of cats. Loki is very sweet and if given the opportunity, he will "lick you to death.” Loki craves humane attention and loves to cuddle whenever possible. He does not like to be separated from his foster family and will remain in whatever room they are in. Loki needs an adopter that has people home more throughout the day and willing to truly make him a part of the family. Because of his exuberance and the possibility of knocking little ones over, Loki is approved for households with children over the age of 8. Being a herding dog, Loki definitely needs daily exercise including walks, playing in the yard, running, etc. He really enjoys chasing a ball and will often bring it back to you when called. Loki knows a couple commands including “sit” and his family is working on “off” because he does tend to jump up to try and kiss your face to greet you. He’s working on leash manners but will a bit more help. Loki is very sensitive and will collapse to the ground and roll over onto his back if you yell at him showing extreme submission. His adopters will need to use positive, rewarding training only! “Loki is such a sweetie. He deserves a wonderful loving home,” said his foster mom. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, neutered, dewormed, inoculated against diseases, tested for Heartworm Disease and tick-born diseases, placed on monthly preventative and microchipped.
