  • American Pit Bull Terrier-Unknown Mix Dog For Adoption in Westmont, IL, USA

    ZOEY

    verified

    rescue
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Introducing Zoey, a loving, a 3-4 year old, 55 pound Pit Bull Terrier mix. This sweet special girl has had a rough past but she is now ready for a committed adopter. She is considered a "special needs dog" because she has allergies and requires a specific diet AND an informed owner who will be dedicated to her needs. Zoey is incredibly sweet and loves her humans. Her one favorite thing - going for walks. She is pretty active so daily walks and play time in the yard is great for her. Once back home from her walks, she really enjoys snuggling with her foster dad. She doesn't have much interest in playing with toys. Zoey was on the run as a stray for a couple weeks so we don't know what all she encountered, but she is dog selective; despite her having lived with dogs in her foster home, she remains selective so we are seeking adoptive homes where she will be the only dog in the home. Zoe has the happiest wiggle but and gives the best big kisses. She has that perfect Pitty smile and will gladly show it off with lots of loves. She cannot live with cats - she is allergic to them (in addition to a variety of other things). This beautiful girl has been examined by licensed veterinarians, spayed, inoculated against diseases, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases and placed on monthly preventatives, plus microchipped. In addition, Zoey has gone through some allergy testing. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available for online completion and submission through A Caring Place's website, .acaringplacehs OR by requesting a paper application through our email, acaringplacecomcast A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. PEETA

    Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Introducing PEETA, a precious 2-year old Pit Bull Terrier mix who suffered neglect prior to rescue. Peeta is most likely a bully breed mix; she currently weighs about 40 pounds but could probably gain a few more pounds. Peeta lives in a foster home with an older child and other dogs, all of whom she gets along with well. Peeta has a very fun and spunky personality. Peeta loves to go for walks, possibly because she was previously unable to due to confinement prior to her rescue. She likes to play with toys, and would do well in a home with calm dogs. She loves to hang out by her humans, but even better is cuddling with them. She also does well “chilling-out” on her dog bed and observing what is going on around her. Peeta’s foster mom says she is smart and a quick learner. As with all new adoptions, we encourage adopters to enroll in obedience classes with Peeta to ensure a solid transition. Peeta is allergic to chicken and possibly grain so she does require an alternate protein limited ingredient food. She is housebroken and crate trained. This dog has been examined multiple times by a licensed veterinarian, inoculated against diseases, tested for diseases and parasites, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available online through our website’s home page - .acaringplacehs OR by paper when requesting a copy via email, acaringplacecomcast. MICKEY

    rescue
    Breed: Chihuahua
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Introducing MICKEY, a wonderful little Chihuahua who is about 2 years old and approximately 15 pounds. He has a cream and white smooth coat of fur with upright ears. Mickie is a remarkably sweet boy who loves to cuddle and be close to you as much as possible. He absolutely loves playing with toys and is very energetic. He enjoys running around and being goofy in the fenced yard, playing with other dogs. Mickie is crated while his foster is at work. Mickie previously lived with very young children; he was very gentle and sweet with them. There is not a mean bone in his body! He is now in a foster home with six other dogs - small to medium sized - all of whom he does great with. Mickie is playful with them and loves to follow the 12 year old beagle around and lick his face. Mickey did not previously live with other dogs, so he will sometimes growl at them if they come near his food bowl while he’s eating. Mickie is crated while his foster is at work. This is a great little dog who would love a home with kids, and with another smaller dog that he can play with daily. Mickey has been provided inoculations, worming, tests for diseases, neuter, and microchip. CASSIE

    rescue
    Breed: Cairn Terrier-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Cairn Terrier / Scottish Terrier Scottie / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Hi my name is Cassie! I am most likely a Cairn Terrier or Scottish Terrier mix who is between 7 and 8 years old, weighing just under 20 pounds. I have a rough coat that is black, gray, and white which requires routine grooming. When rescued I needed to get my long coat removed because of matting and to help clean up the bald spot caused by flea dermatitis. My coat is filling in now that I am on a quality food and have received medical care. I am a loving, mild mannered girl who has very good house manners - I don’t jump on furniture. I am comfortable being in my crate when my foster mom goes to work. I am housebroken and very easy going. I live with my foster mom and her two Yorkshire Terriers, both of whom I get along with very well; we don’t actually play together but we do like to hang out together. I love under the chin and back scratches. I haven't mastered the whole belly rub thing but I'm sure I will love those too! My favorites - snuggling, sleeping in my bed, chasing my tennis ball around, going for walks and laying outside in the sun. I got to experience snow for a day and had so much fun running around in it I didn't want to come inside. I have been good around strangers in general and large groups of people; sometimes I just need a little time to feel comfortable meeting some people. I haven't been around dogs larger than me or cats but my mild temperament tells me I would do well. I have been around young children and mostly sniffed them while they tried to pet me. I have let out a couple barks and my foster mom was so happy to hear my voice. I don’t do it often, only when my foster brother and sister bark. I have a cataract in my right eye, but it doesn’t seem to hinder me; I navigate through the house and back yard as if I've lived here for years and do not bump into things. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases, vaccinated, dewormed, spayed and microchipped. In addition, a blood panel was run (no concerning areas) in preparation for my dental which required four extractions. PENNY

    rescue
    Breed: Chihuahua-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 325. Oh goodness - how cute is Penny, a 1 year old, female, Chihuahua mix, weighing about 15 pounds. Her foster mom says she is SO sweet! Penny has a lot of personality and energy, which is appropriate for such a young dog. She actually likes to hang in her crate if you’re in the room with her but she’s not a fan of being left alone inside of it so her foster mom is trying to help her be more comfortable. Otherwise she’s quiet and just likes to run around the house and sit in my lap. Penny absolutely looooves to play with other dogs, especially her foster mom’s dog - they are best buddies. She is very active and likes to chew and rip up toys. She continues to be afraid of new people visiting the house and will bark and growl (fearful) and then runs away from them. She will need time to acclimate to her adopter’s family/home AND will benefit from some work with trainer to help her feel more comfortable. Penny is house-trained and has learned how to sit on command. She’s one smart cookie! Penny is approved for households with adults. She’d benefit from a fenced in yard; she has great recall and will comes inside immediately when her foster mom calls her name. She would do best in a household with another small, younger dog who would enjoy an active playmate. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, spayed, inoculated, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases, placed on monthly preventative, and microchipped. IVY

    Breed: Husky-Labrador Retriever Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Husky / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 375. Hi! My name is Ivy and I am most likely a Husky/Labrador Retriever mix. I was born around the end of October. I currently weigh 52 pounds right now and am growing quickly so the ladies at the rescue think I will likely grow to be over 60 pounds. I got my name because my sister, Holly, and I were rescued right before Christmas from a rural shelter in Kentucky. My foster mom says I'm a smart puppy who is a quick learner albeit a little stubborn at times. She says I sometimes talk to her (that's my Husky parts) when I really want something and I am as sweet as they come. I do love playing with my foster siblings and the kids in the house but my favorite thing is to cuddle with my favorite girl. At night I sleep in my foster mom’s bedroom in my own bed; I hear that I snore like an old man, but you know, I am not really sure what that means. When my foster family has to leave the house I go into my crate which I handle pretty well. I am learning some commands and am pretty much housebroken. My foster family says they love me so much. As with any puppy, Ivy will need an adopter who has time and willingness to dedicate to training and exercise; she has a lot to learn and will need to continue learning good manners from her adopter to make her a great companion. Ivy has been examined by veterinarians, received a series of age appropriate inoculations, been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $375. AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING: Holly will be at the Chicago Pet Show in Oak Lawn this Saturday, 5/4, from 11 am to 2 pm. chicagopetshow/ Come out and meet his precious pup. This cutie-pie is HOLLY. She was born around the end of October and weighs about 30 pounds right now. We expect her to grow to 50 pounds, possibly more. Holly and her sister, Ivy, are probably Husky/Labrador mixes but we don't have any history on them to know for sure. The girls were rescued from a rural pound in Kentucky right before Christmas. Holly is a little smaller than her sister and is very sweet and loving, a bit cautious, but inquisitive and interested. She loves kisses and cuddles, tennis balls, and playing with her sister as well as the adult dogs in her foster home. Holly is in a foster home with children and she just adores them; she follows them everywhere...including the bathroom. While the kids are in there, she'll jump into the bathroom and wait for them. Silly girl! Holly's foster mom says she is a smart pup who catches on quickly. She appears to be housebroken by keeping her on a schedule and taking her out frequently. As with any puppy, Holly will need an adopter who has time and willingness to dedicate to training and exercise; she has a lot to learn and will need to continue learning good manners from her adopter to make her a great companion. Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Queensland Heeler (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 325. This handsome and very sweet boy is LOKI, a 3 year old, 45 pound, Queensland Blue Heeler. Loki is a truly loving, joyful dog who is a big time snuggler! Loki craves human attention and would do best in a home where people are home during the day; this boy loves to cuddle, especially on the couch or recliner when his foster family are watching TV. One of Loki's favorite activities is playing with the soccer ball in the yard, and he would also enjoy playing fetch too. Loki is a very smart dog who would thrive in an environment where he can use his brain, like agility training. Loki lives successfully in a foster home with another larger dog and three cats. We have, however, found Loki to be reactive on leash with some dogs while on walks so his foster mom is working with our trainer. The trainer said that Loki is such a great dog that he would love to adopt him, but he cannot at this time. Loki has full access of the house when his family is away (not crated) and has always been respectful of the home. Being a herding dog, Loki definitely needs daily exercise including walks, playing in the yard, running, etc. Loki is very sensitive and will collapse to the ground and roll over onto his back if you yell at him showing extreme submission. His adopters will need to use positive, rewarding training only! Loki is such a sweetie. He deserves a wonderful loving home. Because of his exuberance and the possibility of knocking little ones over, Loki is approved for households with children over the age of 8. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, neutered, dewormed, inoculated against diseases, tested for Heartworm Disease and tick-born diseases, placed on monthly preventative and microchipped.
