Reason we are putting him up for adoption... We got him for a pet for our 1 1/2 year old son, and did not realize how hyper the breed is, and we don't have a very large place, so just decided to put him up for adoption and see if we can't find something a little slower paced!!

Posted Breed: Bluetick Coonhound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please download and complete an Adoption Questionnaire from our website and email Sherry at sherrym@k-9lifesavers.org You can learn about the adoption process and find a Word, PDF and ONLINE version of the questionnaire by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/. Dog's Name: Brayden Estimated Breed : Bluetick Hound Mix Approximate Age: 10 - 12 months Approximate Weight: approx. 45 pounds Currently Living at: Loving foster home Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION This sweet little girl is very timid and scared. Brayden sure got lucky as she is currently living in a loving & patient foster home. She is very slow to warm up but she's learning about her new world. We are looking forward to seeing her blossom as she learns to trust. We think she will probably do best in a calm household with another dog-friendly dog but she needs a little time before making another transition so we willl update you on how she is doing, what kind of forever home we think would be best for her, & when she is ready to be adopted. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. You can also find the adoption questionnaire and learn about the adoption process by visiting our website: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/ Dog's Name: Carol Estimated Breed : terrier/plott hound mix Approximate Age: 1 yr Approximate Weight: 45 lbs Currently Living at: Boarding Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Carol was adopted from us as a puppy but sadly her family couldn't handle her being a typical rambunctious and energetic pup and returned her to us. She has been confused and scared since she came back to us and she doesn't understand what she has done wrong. We are hoping that this girl gets a second chance and this time it will be forever. She's a very sweet girl and good with other dogs. She gets VERY excited for attention and will jump on you. She has had some obedience training and knows SIT, but the rest still needs work. She needs a very strong handler that can work with her and give her lots of EXERCISE! She needs to get out on run and be able to be puppy, but also needs to continue training. She is sweet, well crate trained, housetrained (but being in a kennel sometimes undoes that hard work so a refresher course may be required). Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. Dog's Name: Cannon (bonded pair with Case, must adopt together) Adoption Cooridnator: Dena ( DenaE@k-9lifesavers.org) Estimated Breed : boston terrier old english bulldog Mix (based on google search looking at pictures, no known breed otherwise) Approximate Age: 2 years Approximate Weight: approx. 14 lbs Currently Living at: foster Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION BONDED PAIR! Cannon must be adopted with Case (his father?? his brother from another litter?? who knows). Cannon is somewhat timid, but very sweet and very playful. Case is VERY timid and relies on Cannon for support and confidence. Case follows Cannon everywhere. Cannon will allow you to pick him up, Case is super scared and flops around on the end of the leash like a fish out of water, but once you get him in your arms he's relaxed, calm cool and collected...he'll even give some kisses! Both of these little dudes are SUPER cute and would do great in a home with no young children as they are too timid...never in an aggressive way, but it wouldn't be fair to them for them to be hiding all day. If you have a quiet family that is understanding, patient, and loving, these guys could definitely benefit from your support and comfort. They survived Parvo as ADULTS because their previous owners never vaccinated them and when they ended up at the shelter the were exposed to Parvovirus. We caught it right away and they are doing GREAT! They are playful and full of energy now. Case is a bit vocal when he wants something, then when you go to give it to him he's afraid, so we laugh and carry on. Cannon loves to play with other dogs, toys, and will even come up to you and give you some kisses and allow you to pick him up, albeit somewhat apprehensively. If you are interested in adopting a bonded pair and are willing to show these little guys love, patience, and understanding to help them understand how good life can me, please apply by sending your application (http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/s/2016applicationdocx-1.docx) to DenaE@k-9lifesavers.org! Dog's Name: Jack Estimated Breed : Beagle Mix Approximate Age: 2 years Approximate Weight: approx. 40 pounds Currently Living at: Boarding Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION This cutie was adopted as a puppy and life's circumstances have changed for Jack's owner and she can no longer keep him. He's good with other dogs, women and children but somewhat fearful of men. Not that he was abused by a man, but because he grew up with a single mom with children so he wasn’t socialized with men...he will warm up to men after a bit, but he was protective of her on walks when strange men approached. He is active and would do best in a home that has a back yard for him to run or someone that jogs and is active. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. Dog's Name: Tuck Estimated Breed : Black Lab Mix Approximate Age: 2.5 years Approximate Weight: approx. 50 lbs Currently Living at: Boarding Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Tuck is a handsome two and half year old lab. He is playful, loving, loyal, and goofy. He plays well with his three female current housemates, but needs to be the only male dog. He would also thrive as an only dog, where he can get all the attention he deserves. He is house-trained and has graduated from puppy kindergarten. He knows sit, wait(stay), down, and "with me" on walks. He walks well on a gentle leader but can get very excited when he sees a squirrel. He is crate trained but can also be trusted to be left alone without crating once comfortable in a new space as long as something delicious is not left on the counter. He would love a home with a backyard where he can run around and chase toys. He loves nothing more than to go on long walks or jogs, and he is perfectly happy to snooze on the sofa at the end of the day and relax with his human. If you can give this wonderful and active pup a forever home with space to run and play and continue to reinforce his training, he will reward you with his whole heart and a lifetime of friendship and laughter. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training.
