Labrador Retriever Dog For Adoption in SPOKANE, WA, USA

    Brody

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
We need to rehome our 6 year old black lab male, named Brody. He started showing signs of aggression towards food at 6 months old. Also is very territorial of his pillow and bones. We enrolled him in puppy preschool and my husband worked with him for years, but it has never got better. He growled at my son through a gate recently, so HOME WITHOUT KIDS IS IDEAL. He doesn't like other dogs, has never bit one or fought, just growls and barks. He loves to play in the little kid pools and will play fetch until he can't run anymore haha. Is a sweet dog, but the aggression is too scary now that we have kids. Have tried to contact a trainer in the past but never heard back. Again ideally a home without kids and with someone willing to work with him. We feed him outside away from everyone now. Good dog other than aggressive behavior towards food and pillow/bed.

    Ben Cohen

    rescue
    Breed: Chihuahua
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier.     ↵     NAME: Ben Cohen AGE/GENDER: 1 year 2 weeks 4 days/Male BREED: Chihuahua WEIGHT: 8.0 lbs TEMPERAMENT: Ben is shy at first, but once he warms up he is cuddly and curious. HOUSE TRAINING: We are still working on it! Ben will try to tell you when he needs to go out but needs some work on holding it for more than a few hours. He is still learning :0) CRATE TRAINING:  He still needs a little work in this area as crate training is new to him, but he's getting better! OTHER DOGS: Once he’s used to other dogs, he is sweet! Otherwise, he can be a little nervous. He might hide or be noisy, but he is not aggressive. He is fostered with 2 other dogs currently and is doing great. He loves his chiweenie foster brother and loves to play. CATS: Although not with cats currently, he has lived with cats in the past and was said to be fine.  CHILDREN: Ben LOVES kids. He would be so happy in a home with kiddos to cuddle.  He was previously in a home with toddlers and very patient with them. ADOPTION DONATION: $400.00 HEALTH: Ben Cohen is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with a free 30 day trial of free pet insurance provided by 24PetWatch.   HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find Ben Cohen a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Ben is a sweet little munchkin! His favorite things are snuggling under blankets, so if you want a dog to cuddle at night or with young ones during nap time - he is your guy. He is very well mannered for the most part, he just needs some training in regards to where he should and shouldn’t go to the bathroom. He is great with all kids and other dogs once he gets to know them. He is a shy little boy but learning to trust. He needs more socialization and to explore the big wide world with someone who can give him the patience to watch him grow. Exposure to new things and new people is the key. That being said, he is not mean or aggressive in the slightest, and once he knows that a dog is friendly he is a happy camper. In less than 24 hours, Ben and our dog were running around the house and playing, although Ben would always let our dog win.    All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. We also send home additional flea treatment and deworming medication for your future use.   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo does not have a traditional shelter location, but instead, utilizes private foster homes which care for the animals individually, in a home environment, until a "furever" home is found.   Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment" Dog Daycare & Training Studio in Redmond, WA which is a day-use facility and does not hold kennels of adoptable animals. The dogs there are owned animals who come to the facility while their families are at work and school so they can play and socialize in a safe environment. We dub this service our "Year-round" fundraising program which helps us support our rescue animals and the $15,000/ month vet bills we incur. This Studio location does have an Adoptable Cat Lounge, where cats may live until adoption, which is the exception to any aforementioned rules.   Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application so we can get you started on the journey to finding a new, furry friend! Once you have been approved to adopt, then we can set up a meeting with the animal you have been matched with.   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo Crew

She wants to say hi and be near but not necessarily play CATS: unknown - I’m sure she would do great with a cat. She doesn’t chase or initiate play CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older -- she loves people in general. She is small and does get under foot ADOPTION DONATION:  $375 HEALTH: Emily Warren is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with a free 30 day trial of free pet insurance provided by 24PetWatch.   HISTORY: EMILY was rescued by firefighters from a burning hoarding home. Sadly She is only 1 of 4 survivors where over 18 others perished. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find Emily a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Emily is a unique little lady, while she prefers to spend her time cuddled under a blanket next to you (or on your lap), she also doesn’t want to miss any of the action. She will follow you from room to room, rub on all the things and invade any personal space (dog or human) for some pets. She loves her yoga poses with downward dog being her favorite (not kidding, she does it all the time) as well as a good walk, though she will follow your feet instead of leading the way. Emily loves people and will put the breaks on to say hi, or jump all around to get your attention. She has some separation anxiety and is the most comfortable with another dog around. While she doesn’t love her crate, she will sleep in there during the day and at night. She does much better being in the same room (in the crate) as her foster’s dogs and humans. She’s a spunky 9 year old who really just wants a K9 friend, a lap to lay on and blankets to cuddle under.    All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Posted Breed: Saint Bernard / Boxer / Mixed. Tank is a distinguished older gentleman that is sure to steal your heart. He is blind but he doesn't let that stop him from holding the door for you, well as long as you show him where it is! He walks great on a leash and listens and responds well to voice commands. No one has told tank that he's a "senior" dog so he is oblivious to this fact. He is still extremely youthful in his play and enjoys playing with a ball. Tank loves doting on children of all ages and plays well with other dogs his size, but cats are just too exciting for this big guy. One of Tank's favorite things to do is pretend he's a lapdog and he enjoys having you run your fingers through his soft tufts of wispy hair. Tank is searching for a loving adopter to give him the life he deserves! Tank is a 9-year-old, 93 pound St. Bernard/Mastiff/Boxer Mix. His adoption fee is $50.00 and includes current vaccinations, neuter, microchip, free veterinary exam, food sample, leash, collar and toy...a ball of course!

    Breed: Mutt

Posted Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. Junebug, aka Juney or Bug, is a very timid girl that was possibly abused in her past life. However, that life is now behind her and she is in a foster home and slowly coming out of her shell with her foster dad and mom, another dog her size, and even a cat! (She is curious about the cat and wants to sniff but is wary if the cat looks at her!) She is still very timid when a new person enters the home but is making wonderful progress for the short time she's been in foster care. She loves to run and will run around in circles in the back yard (fenced of course) but would rather have a buddy to hang with or her trusted people outside with her. She can also be a huge couch potato! Juney is learning how to be a snuggle buddy and will jump up on the bed to sleep with anyone there and burrow under the covers! She knows some basic commands such as sit, stay, come (unless she's scared), and is learning more each day. She walks well on a leash for being so timid still and would probably make someone a great hiking or running partner with a little more training. Juney has one ear that is usually up and one that doesn't seem able to be up and is always flopped half over. She also has big brown doe eyes that will just melt your heart! She is house trained and weighs approx 71# and is about 6 years old.

She is house trained, knows basic commands and loves children. She will chase cats and will sometimes quarrel with other female dogs but other than that she's pretty peace loving. If you have a soft spot in your heart for a pup that has lost her Daddy please fill out an adoption application on our website and we'll hook you up for a meet and greet. Where else could you find a spayed dog, current on their shots for $60? Owner's widow doesn't feel she can give her the time and love that she got from him.
