  • Shih Tzu Dog For Adoption in Westmont, IL, USA

    PRINCESS

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Shih Tzu
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shih Tzu (medium coat). Introducing PRINCESS, a delightful, 11 pound, 9 year young, purebred Shih Tzu. Princess required surgery to remove both her eyes due to chronic dry eye that caused her eyelids to eyelids to split. But don't let her blindness fool you! She is a spunky, playful, fun dog who loves to explore. Princess lived with another senior dog prior to rescue and it is obvious that she really enjoys the companionship of other calm dogs - laying with them and snuggling together. Despite losing her sight, she is doing very well in her foster home. She healed quickly and nicely after surgery. Princess is housebroken and will let you know when she has to go outside. She does need supervision while out for her safety but does great and does her duty and comes back to return inside. She is the sweetest passive pooch and would make an ideal companion for a senior person or couple offering a calmer, quieter home. Princess received a donated "Muffin's Halo" to help her with her transition as a blind dog. This halo will be provided to the adopter to assist Princess in feeling out her new home - doors, furniture, walking areas, etc. The halo provides a safety halo area around her head so as she is figuring out the layout of the new home, her face is protected. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, spayed, inoculated against diseases, dewormed, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases plus put on monthly preventatives, and microchipped. In addition, she underwent a double enucleation surgery to remove her eyes. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available for online completion and submission through A Caring Place's website, .acaringplacehs or by requesting a paper copy via email, acaringplacecomcast A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. • German Shepherd Dog Dog For Adoption in San Francisco, CA, USA

    Rudy

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Behavior Handsome Rudy is estimated to be about 6 or 7 years old and weighs about 75 pounds. He enjoys off leash runs everyday at Ft. Funston, or Stern Grove, or McClaren Park. He is enrolled in a beginning tracking class and doing very well. He also might be good at herding, too, as he will go after any dog in the group that strays too far from the pack. He would benefit from a basic obedience class as well. When Rudy first arrived at his foster home, he clearly had not had much human contact and was very avoidant at being touched. Now he comes up and leans in for massages and would prefer a home where he can be with his person more often than not. Rudy is no trouble at home and he loves relaxing on his soft bed. He might be okay with cats, and currently lives with other dogs. A home with previous GSD or large dog experience is important and being with someone that understands he wants to be their companion not left alone all day is a must. He has that wonderful, solid temperament that everyone hopes to get when they acquire a German Shepherd. Rudy is a diamond in the rough and will be your most faithful companion. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Rudy is $250. If you are interested in adopting Rudy, please complete our online adoption application at .gratefuldogsrescue/adoption-process.html. One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

    Breed: Pug-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pug / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Panda is just full of enthusiasm and a great cuddler! His favorite things are people, dogs, toys, everything really. Panda is really fun and, at 19 pounds, a great size for someone that wants a small dog that can do everything a big dog does. He is easily trained and has most of his obedience skills. House trained, leash trained and ready for a family. He loves car rides as much as laps, or maybe chasing balls. He's great with respectful children and finds them to be the best snugglers. Since he is pretty young he should not be left alone all day, but has shown no separation anxiety. If you can meet him you will love him. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Panda is $250.
