    Breed: Beagle-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Spaniel / Mixed (short coat). We will be doing adoptions on Saturday, June 16th from 12-5pm at Palo Alto Pet Food Express. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-5pm on Sat. June 16th or until adopted. If interested, please fill out an application if you would like the first opportunity to meet prior to the start of the event. (We will pre-approve one home to meet per dog.) Eminem is a 4 year old Beagle-Spaniel mix who we rescued from the shelter with his brother Dr. Dre. They were surrendered to their local shelter by their family. We don't know why they were left there, but we promised them a bright and happy new future! Here is the report on Eminem from his foster home: Eminem is playful and energetic and loves to meet new people! He loves to greet you when you come in the house, and to follow you around from room to room. If you're sitting quietly reading, he will curl up near you and keep you company. Eminem sleeps through the night, either in a bed with people or by himself. He seems to be completely housebroken, and will go straight to the door when he needs to go out. He follows people around and takes cues from them to figure out what to do. If everyone else is sitting around and relaxing, so will he.
He in not very interested in toys yet, since he does not like to chew/bite things. He likes being around people more. He is a great companion. He likes to jump up on people, especially when he is excited to greet a new person, even though he only wants to get some pats. He’s incredibly soft, and is definitely a people-pleaser, seeing that he follows his humans around everywhere they go. He only weighs 18 lbs. He is a very happy dog, wagging his tail all the time. He cares for his "people" a lot and likes to express it by wagging, following you around, curling up next to you, and snuggling. Eminem may be an option for a first time dog owner who has done their research and demonstrates readiness to bring a pup into the home. He is an option for children over the age of 7.

Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Mixed. Hi! I'm Brixton, and I'm a 12-year-old Australian Shepherd mix. My foster mom tells me I have a heart of gold, and people we see on walks tell me I'm "soooo handsome." I've been through a lot in my life, but I don't let that get me down. Because of my past, you should know that I will have to be on certain medications for the rest of my life, and I want to make sure my future family knows that ahead of time. But don't let that deter you! I still have plenty of love left to give. I like short walks, but mostly, I like hanging out with my people and snoozing in the sunshine. If you're looking for a calm, cool and collected sidekick, that's me! I have a profound love of all dog toys, and I'd even be willing to share with other dogs in a home. Since being in a crate makes my muscles pretty sore, foster mom lets me stay out while she's gone, and to repay her, I don't have any accidents or chew on anything I'm not supposed to while she's at work. She says that this makes me a "dream dog" - whatever that means. If you're looking for a low-key, forever fur pal who has been around the block a time or two, I'm your guy, and I'd love to meet you.

Motley Zoo does not have a traditional shelter location, but instead, utilizes private foster homes which care for the animals individually, in a home environment, until a "furever" home is found.   Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment" Dog Daycare & Training Studio in Redmond, WA which is a day-use facility and does not hold kennels of adoptable animals. The dogs there are owned animals who come to the facility while their families are at work and school so they can play and socialize in a safe environment. We dub this service our "Year-round" fundraising program which helps us support our rescue animals and the $15,000/ month vet bills we incur. Once you have been approved to adopt, then we can set up a meeting with the animal you have been matched with.   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo Crew

    Shaun White

    rescue
    Breed: Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Husky (medium coat).   ↵    NAME: Shaun White AGE/GENDER: 2 years 4 months 2 weeks 5 days/Male BREED: Husky WEIGHT: 50.0 lbs TEMPERAMENT: Affectionate, playful, silly HOUSE TRAINING: Shaun is housebroken, but he does mark.   CRATE TRAINING: Great. Shaun goes to his crate willingly. He sleeps in the crate and eats in the crate.  OTHER DOGS: Shaun is a little nervous of other dogs. He does great when they just ignore him. He does have some previous bite marks on his face, which probably accounts for his nervousness with other dogs. However, he does have a prey drive and will chase. CATS: Shaun is a husky and he does indeed have a prey drive. No cats. CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older   ADOPTION DONATION: $400 HEALTH: Shaun is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with a free 30 day trial of free pet insurance provided by 24PetWatch.   HISTORY: Shaun was rescued off a meat truck in Korea and came to Seattle to find a forever home where he won't be a part of the menu.   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Shaun is an amazing boy. He's super sweet and affectionate. Loves to hang with you and be near you, but he's not needy like huskies can be and is happy to give you your own space. He loves belly rubs and is quite submissive. He's been jerked around previously (literally) and has some tracheal sensitivity, so he should be in a harness. And is quite content to just hang out. He's learning about movies (he really gets into them) and has discovered the bed (something he probably never experienced while being on a meat farm) and loves to roll around in bed. He loves to gaze outside the window to view what's going on but isn't an overly vocal boy. But he does have things he needs work on. He sits and shakes; however, he does need more leash training. He loves to go for walks. Loves to be outside. He pulls but then he will sit when you pull back. he is learning to heel and walk without pulling. He has quite the prey drive and will attempt to chase squirrels and bunnies. So he cannot be trusted off leash. While he does not mind dogs on the trail passing him by and will greet dogs appropriately, he would probably be happiest as an only dog in the home as prolonged interactions with other dogs makes him nervous. He can coexist with another dog in the home who would completely ignore him. He's an odd boy in that regard.    All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. We also send home additional flea treatment and deworming medication for your future use.   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Ben Cohen

    rescue
    Breed: Chihuahua
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier.     ↵     NAME: Ben Cohen AGE/GENDER: 1 year 2 months 3 weeks 4 days/Male BREED: Chihuahua WEIGHT: 8.0 lbs TEMPERAMENT: Ben is shy at first, but once he warms up he is cuddly and curious. HOUSE TRAINING: We are still working on it! Ben will try to tell you when he needs to go out but needs some work on holding it for more than a few hours. He is still learning :0) CRATE TRAINING:  He still needs a little work in this area as crate training is new to him, but he's getting better! OTHER DOGS: Once he’s used to other dogs, he is sweet! Otherwise, he can be a little nervous. He might hide or be noisy, but he is not aggressive. He is fostered with 2 other dogs currently and is doing great. He loves his chiweenie foster brother and loves to play. CATS: Although not with cats currently, he has lived with cats in the past and was said to be fine.  CHILDREN: Ben LOVES kids. He would be so happy in a home with kiddos to cuddle.  He was previously in a home with toddlers and very patient with them. ADOPTION DONATION: $400.00 HEALTH: Ben Cohen is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with a free 30 day trial of free pet insurance provided by 24PetWatch.   HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find Ben Cohen a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Ben is a sweet little munchkin! His favorite things are snuggling under blankets, so if you want a dog to cuddle at night or with young ones during nap time - he is your guy. He is very well mannered for the most part, he just needs some training in regards to where he should and shouldn’t go to the bathroom. He is great with all kids and other dogs once he gets to know them. He is a shy little boy but learning to trust. He needs more socialization and to explore the big wide world with someone who can give him the patience to watch him grow. Exposure to new things and new people is the key. That being said, he is not mean or aggressive in the slightest, and once he knows that a dog is friendly he is a happy camper. In less than 24 hours, Ben and our dog were running around the house and playing, although Ben would always let our dog win.    All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs.
