We are absolutely in love with our Portuguese Water Dogs. We are the proud owners of both mom and dad. Ariel and Triton are incredibly intelligent, warm and fun-loving. They enjoy swimming in the pool all summer long, love to cuddle & can get be mischievous at times. Both Ariel and Triton pride themselves in being good watch dogs, letting us know when they hear or see something out of place. Of course, sometimes it can be their own reflection in the window. Important notes about Portuguese Water Dogs: 1. They require consistent grooming. We have Ariel and Triton groomed every 4 weeks by a professional groomer. It keeps their coat teddy bear soft and tangle free. They don't seem to shed at all. However, when they do shed, they shed into their coat, so it's not noticeable. 2. They hate to be alone. I work from home, so I am with them all day every day. They will lay under my feet when I'm working at my desk and follow me from room to room. They require a good amount of cuddles and are willing to always return the affection. 3. They are very active and need to get their energy out. 4. They are the most human dogs that we have ever owned. They express their feelings and love their family. Triton and Ariel have never been aggressive with any other dog or strangers. However, they take time to warm up before they will jump up in someone's lap, who is not their family. 5. PWD's can be a handful as puppies. Although we found them very easy to potty train, their energetic nature will keep you on your toes. 6. They thoroughly love training. Price is Negotiable for a Very Good Home
