Wanda – Female Goldendoodle, 1-1/2 years old, 47 lbs Hi there new friends! My name is Wanda and I am looking for love! Are you looking for love too? You are!?! Well let’s get to know each other and maybe we can be each other’s forever love match! I used to be an outside dog in my previous homes, but I got so lonely out there while all the people were inside… my best friend became my ball. Run, fetch, repeat! Luckily for me, I found my way to those amazing Defenders of Dogs at LRRF and now it is the indoor life for me! I still love my ball, but it is all cozy beds, belly rubs, and lots of treats for me now! I am still in my puppy stage, so I need a family that will exercise me regularly and work with me to learn my commands and tricks. No one ever spent time to train me until I came to LRRF, but I am really excited to learn more! I love to make you smile and wag my tail and wiggle about when you look at me with that happy expression on your face. I am crate- and house-trained and I am working hard on learning my leash manners. My favorite thing is to play fetch with my ball. My ball is really special to me – it brought me a lot of comfort when I was a lonely outside dog. I am still very attached to it. Please throw it for me! I will race to catch it, though you may have to chase me to get it back! I sure do love to play and romp around, but I also adore a good belly rub and I cannot resist a soft cuddle with my people. I did not get much attention in my previous life, so I have a lot of pent-up love to give <3 Wanda is a fun-loving sweetheart who is looking for a best friend to share life with her. She loves her people and is so happy to be by your side. Wanda is housetrained, crate-trained, and knows a few basic commands (like “sit”). Wanda loves to play with dogs of all sizes, but there are no cats in her foster home, so we are unsure how she will behave with feline friends. She will need an active family who is committed to attending training classes with her to ensure a lifetime of good behavior. Also please note – Wanda came to our rescue with a “Summer Cut”. Please do NOT shave your dog!!! Shaving a dog does not make it cooler, hair is present for several reasons, mainly to provide thermal regulation for your dog. By shaving your dog, you are putting them at increased risk for sunburn and over-heating. It is quite dangerous! The best thing you can do to keep your dog cool in the summer is keep them indoors in the air conditioning and provide plenty of fresh cool water for them to drink.
