Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. Foster Or Forever Home Wanted: Meet Bruno!! Bruno is a sweet, 14 month old lab who ended up in the shelter system for a second time in less than 4 months. Bruno was originally rescued by an independent rescuer with a few of his siblings when they were puppies. They were all placed in homes, but sadly poor Bruno’s wasn’t stellar. Bruno ended up getting out of a backyard and was impounded in December. His owner didn’t bail him out but his rescuer did. He went to live with her f or a month and then the adopter got him back. She was moving to Hawaii and was supposedly making arrangements for him. She left him with a friend and after a month they called AC to come and get the “stray” dog that was hanging around their property. How horrible is that? We were contacted by the original rescuer to see if we could help and do right by Bruno. It breaks our heart he was failed by his original adopter, but now we will make sure that is behind him and we will find him a great home! Bruno is great with other dogs, he can be a little shy at first in new situation, but once comfortable he is a love. He has great energy, house trained, crate trained, not too bad on the leash and he is doing great on his basic commands. Bruno needs a loving and stable home to call his own. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. Sweet Juliet And Her Beautiful Babies Are Ready For Homes!! Sweet Juliet came to us from the Bakersfield shelter. She was very pregnant and immediately went to a loving foster home where she gave birth to 10 beautiful babies. Juliet got very sick with a nasty upper respiratory infection. When the puppies turned 2 weeks they too began to get sick. Sadly, we lost 5 of her babies to Fading Puppy Syndrome, but thanks to some quick thinking by one of our volunteers who dealt with this in the past, we were able to save 5 of her babies! All are now happy, very healthy and ready for loving, forever homes! Juliet’s puppies are 8 weeks old and full of puppy antics! Now, I have a wonderful foster family that is showing me the ropes of being a beloved pet! I’m living in the house, for the first-time part of a family. I have dogs to play with, balls to fetch, and squeaky toys to squeak. My smart mind is taking it all in – I am so eager to learn all that I have missed. The crate, sit, stay and come – piece of cake! The leash, well I have never experienced it but I’m learning it really quickly! I’ll do just about anything for a treat and a smile and a “good girl” from you. I am getting plenty of snuggles and cuddles from Foster Mom and Dad, oh, and belly rubs, too, don’t forget those! One of my new favorite things is to curl up at foster mom’s feet! To Donate: https://www.youcaring.com/jordy-1165468 A week ago a beautiful, 7 year old, black lab was dumped by her family to the San Bernardino City Shelter. She was dumped with a large, ulcerated mass on her mammary. Even with a painful, bleeding mass she was sweet, happy and so friendly. As soon as we saw her we knew we had to save her and we did. It has been a very rocky road for Jordy. Her initial blood values were alarming, her red count was dangerously low and her protein levels were equally as bad. We did x-rays and saw some shadowing that was also concerning. We have spent the last few days running diagnostics and trying to stabilize Jordy's blood values. We have done an ultra sound and thankfully, no internal bleeding, but now we need to do surgery ASAP! Her uterus is also dangerously swollen, yes, she is still intact, so we need to remove that and the tumor ASAP! Please help us help Jordy! She is an amazing girl, with lots of spunk and fight! Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. This handsome fellow is Jake Jr. He is an 11-year-old purebred Lab mix. Jake was left at a shelter when his owners moved out of state. This sweet boy is spry for his age, he is a big, strong boy and an expert sharer of his love. He is friendly and loves to give kisses and snuggles. Jake rides well in the car, does well with other dogs, and enjoys chasing cats. He is house trained, does not enjoy a crate but seems to not need one with his nice house manners. This amazing boy is looking for a home where he will be included as part of the family, given a soft bed, and some loving time together. He will reward you with his loyalty and heart for the rest of his life. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. Meet Dustin! Dustin is an 8 year old Lab mix. We don't know how Dustin ended up as a stray, but he's now with us and working on getting down to a healthy weight in his foster home. His foster mom says he's just a wonderful dog! He loves his daily walks with the other dogs in his foster home and he's working on his leash manners. Dustin is a velcro dog, he loves to be near his people at all times and is looking for a family that really wants a loving companion. Dustin's greatest joy is to swim! He takes a dip in the pool at his foster home 5-6 times a day and is hoping to find a forever home with a pool he can use just as often. Dustin has some arthritis which gives him a permanent limp and swimming is great exercise for him. Dustin has excellent house manners- he's fully house trained with a dog door and he sleeps through the night on a dog bed in his foster parent's bedroom. He will alert to people coming to the house and to dogs barking in the neighborhood, but he quiets quickly.
