Posted Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Isabell (pawparentgmail) for more information about this pet. Bertha and her 4 puppies were found in the desert in 100 degree heat at a solar field. the puppies could be caught by had but Bertha had to be trapped which was a project of a few days. They all were reunited at Paw Parent and the puppies were overjoyed! Bertha is incredibly sweet, patient and gentle and was a fabulous mom. All her puppies got adopted and now she is waiting for someone to fall in love with her. She was extremely timid at first and had no idea what it meant to walk on a leash but has come out of her shell since then and loves to go on walks now. She just wants to be a good girl and be loved. Bertha has made a new friend here at Paw Parent, Stan, the handsome lab mix and loves to run and play with him. But she is otherwise very mellow and quiet and will make a wonderful friend for a lonely heart. She weighs 68 pounds, is about 2 years old, is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
