Maremma Sheepdog Litter of Puppies For Sale in THORN HILL, TN, USA
Born on Copper Ridge, Clinch Mountain, East Tennessee, on April 22, 2021, we currently have four wonderful puppies, ready to learn how to be Livestock Guardian Dogs on your farm or ranch. There are three males, and one female. All white, with white eyelashes, and dark eyes, they will steal your heart! Some have black paw pads, some white, some white and black. Photos are taken at different ages. They are all active, playful, and lots of fun. Dame, "Lily," and Sire, "Guido," are our dogs, and on our little farm, along with five other adult Maremmas, Grettu, Blue, Maybelline, Bobby and Kona. First vaccinations, veterinarian exam, deworming, and microchip included. We want to try to make sure Maremmas are a "match" for you, so we will have you fill out a short application form, and there will then be a $200 non-refundable deposit required to hold one. Maremmas need open spaces and love to be on guard. They are not meant to be housepets, apartment dogs, or anything except Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGDs). Said to be an over-2,000-year-old breed from Northern Italy, they are usually awake at night, watching your livestock and your family. They are brave, strong, faithful, loyal and, they BARK! They work best in teams of two or more. They are not for everyone, but they might be just what YOU need. Maremmas are not herding dogs, they are GUARDIAN dogs, whether it be from wild/stray dogs, coyotes, wolves, mountain lions or some people...you name it. We are in East Tennessee. Father
Guido Maximo, 120 pounds, very muscular, athletic, gentle to his family, gets along great with livestock, including chickens, cats, horses, pigs and children. A very big boy. He is three. This is his third litter. Guido is pedigreed, and is registered with the Maremma Sheepdog Club, the national registry for Maremmas.
Mother
Lily is about 50 pounds. She is four. This is her third litter and she is an amazingly outstanding mother. She has been very affectionate, protective and attentive to her babies. Lily and her sister, Grettu, work as a team, and communicate with each other through the night. One might be on top of the hill, and the other at the bottom. Their vocalizations change, and one will run to the other. They're usually up all night, and seem to run everywhere they go. Very fit and lean. Lily's DNA test shows she is 100% Maremma. She is not registered.
