I’m a sweet, middle aged cuddle buddy, looking for an experienced dog snuggler for a lifetime relationship. Unfortunately, in my 7.5 years, I have had my heart broken too many times. Some people don’t understand my “attitude”, but I’m not really bad! I’m just a bit more cat-like than other dogs, preferring to not be moved from any spot I deem to be mine. But once I am settled in and know that you are the boss, I’ll adapt to what you need. Greatest asset: I am very chill for the most part. I just want to play for a short while, then cuddle and hang out with my human. I’m also the perfect size! Biggest flaw: I’ve been described as being a bit “grumpy” when having to move from the spot I am sleeping in. I mean, who wants to be forced to give up their spot? Theme song: True Colors, Cyndi Lauper Cat person or dog person?: I am totally cool sharing you with cats, or fellow dogs, as long as those dogs aren’t males larger than me. What can I say? I’m quirky. Kids?: I love em! Ideal Partner: An experienced dog parent who is willing to take charge and be patient while I learn what they need from me.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
