Posted Breed: Yellow Labrador Retriever. I want A "FUR"ever" HOME! Read the FULL Bio to see where I am located and contact info: Say hello to Johnny. He is a yellow lab mix around 1 yr old 44lbs. He is a good boy who gets along with other dogs, tested good with cats but still a pup so may want to play with them and good with kids. Johnny is hanging out here at RCHS until we can find him a home. Please help Johnny!!! All ADOPTERS MUST PLEASE..... ALL Pre-Adopt must be filled out FIRST and COMPLEATLY to be considered. **** Any Incomplete Pre-Adopts will not be considered, We are Volunteers and our time is very important to us also and we cannot waist it on incomplete adoption applications. Please be respectful and sensitive to our time we give to these animals and our mission to save lives. Adoption fees, homechecks, and references are required. ALL of us at RCHS work very hard to save these precious lives, and our only pay we get as volunteers, is a GOOD HOME LIFE for them, we all are volunteers, so please be patient and considerate of our time and responses. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
