Name: Olive Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd Mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 45 lbs Gets Along With: Other dog Currently Living at: DC foster Check out these videos of Olive: youtu.be/VpJIoZWwTLU and youtu.be/lPnx7j5IvYE! Special Adoption Consideration: Olive cannot go to a home with cats and needs to go to a home committed to continuing her behavioral training. Because she is shy and has some stranger danger/anxiety, she should NOT go to a home with kids and would prefer an experienced dog owner who is patient and can provide structure and training and lives in a quiet neighborhood and has a fenced yard. Olive also has a very rough and tumble play style so she is looking for a canine sibling who would be up for that. Olive is Looking For: A family in a rural part of the DMV area, preferably with a big back yard for her to romp around in! She loves water and hiking and the peaceful side of life so she'd love a nice new home that's quiet for her to settle into after a day of playing or hiking. She will need both mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis to keep her happy and healthy--walks alone are not enough for her. Olive is currently doing well on behavior modifying medication and will need adopters willing and able to continue with that + work with her on her behavior training plan. What my foster says about me: Where to begin with Ollie Girl! Ollie is a smart, playful, loving, cuddlebug of a dog! She knows many basic commands like sit, stay, down, come, and walk with me and a few fun ones like paw, twirl, and almost has roll over (it's more of a funny flop with a butt wiggle)! Ollie has three favorite things: her people, her bed (especially when it's in the sun), and squeaky toys. That's it! She does really well with larger dogs when she has a chance to meet them off leash and learn their cues of how to play. However, her favorite dog friends are ones that will play chase with until her hearts content - seriously this girl can run! She also prefers to meet her people off leash with plenty of treats, lots of butt sniffs, and time. If you're patient with her and show her you love her and she can trust you, in no time she will be cuddling up in your lap or sprawling out with her fang tooth out asking for belly rubs. Ollie thrives with routine and does best when she knows what to expect and familiarity. She enjoys quiet walks, naps, and fetch with squeaky toys. Ollie promises to be the best dog ever if you promise to be patient and show her that you will always be there for her! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
