Posted Breed: Pomeranian (medium coat). Peyton and Riley go together like peas and carrots and stick together like two peas in a pod!! These two have been together their entire lives and may even be father and daughter. They are very much bonded and must be adopted together. We rushed in to rescue these precious Pommys when their owner posted them on Craiglist with the possibility of Peyton being pregnant, as we didn't want them to fall into the wrong hands. A month later Peyton went into heat and we couldn't be more happier that she wasn't subjected to bearing another litter of pups. A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED TO ADOPT PEYTON AND RILEY, AS WELL AS A HOME WITHOUT YOUNG CHILDREN/GRANDCHILDREN. NO EXCEPTIONS. Both have the sweetest dispositions, but were obviously not socialized or cared for much in their previous home. They need a quiet home and someone willing to help them work through their fears of this world. It's very easy to see that they both want to break free of the mental anguish that binds them, they just need that patient, caring person to get them over the hurdle. Peyton is approx. 4 years old and weighs 8 pounds while Riley is approx. 5 years old and weighs 12 lbs. Both are kind, gentle and very quiet; however, Peyton does get very excited when you first come home and will bark for a few minutes to let you know how happy she is to see you. Peyton is afraid of steps and will need carried up/down while Riley does them like a pro. Both love the outdoors and a quiet, corner to lay in when indoors. They have come so far with housetraining, but still require patience and consistency. Riley also had a ruptured disc repaired in the middle of his back, which was surgically corrected and needs no further attention. Peyton and Riley are both crate trained, current on vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spayed and neutered, microchipped, and have had bloodwork, fecal and heartworm tests, and dentals. Riley has also seen a board-certified neurologist and has been MRI'd from head to toe with two spinal taps. To adopt these special Pommys, submit on online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Their adoption fee is $200/each (discounted to $150/each for senior citizens 65+).

More About Pomeranian Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Pomeranian (medium coat). I am the beautiful and sweet Katy Kat! I may be a senior, but I have lots of pep and even more love to share with a new family! I was rescued by these nice people from a kill shelter in NY. When I arrived I had some major issues going on. I had a huge hernia that my bladder got trapped in and these nice people along with their vet were able to repair my hernia. Now I am free from that painful thing. I am a healthy girl with the exception of my osteoarthritis and a little heart murmur. My paws are a little larger than they should be due to my joints being affected by the arthritis. No worries though! I take a little anti inflammatory medicine and joint supplement every morning and I am good as new. My favorite thing in the world is a bucket bed to lay on my back in, barking at the dogs when they get out of line, and snuggling in bed with my foster pawrents. I LOVE everyone both furry and human, am 100% pee pad trained (I HATE the outdoors unless it is going from the house to the car), and am a good passenger in the car. Don't let me pass by, I am the perfect addition for you! To adopt Katy, please complete an adoption application at PomPaws.org. Her $250 adoption fee ($150 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), heart worm and fecal test, bloodwork, hernia repair, dental, joint aspiration and biopsy, spay, and all the love you can handle!

Posted Breed: Pomeranian. Arf Arf my name is GiGi and I am a pretty little princess! I don't like young kids so my family had to give me up to these nice people. I was pretty upset for the first two days, but now I am happy and playful again. I am 3 years old and a little overweight at 11 pounds. I like the man of the house, running around the yard, and food! I was born with a deformed back paw so the vet was able to fix it so that the large paw pad is healthy to protect my. Everyone tells me you can't even tell without looking for it that I am missing a back paw.... pff, I don't notice either! To adopt GiGi, please complete an adoption application at PomPaws.org. The $250 adoption fee ($150 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordatella), blood work, fecal and heart worm test, treatment for chronic Lyme disease, and all the love you can handle!

Posted Breed: Pomeranian. Arf Arf! I'm Bruno Mars! I came from a kill shelter after my owners surrendered me a few months ago. Unfortunately, this was the second time I was given up due to behavioral issues. I am a healthy 8 year old neutered boy and I do have a few extra pounds on me as I weigh in at 15 pounds. I love to be the boss and explore because I am a nosey pom. I really need a home that will be consistent in directing my behaviors and I do need to sleep in a crate at night. While I love my foster family and have been on my best behavior, I have bitten in the past and new people need to greet me properly with treats. I need a home with established dogs as I can be overbearing with any new pets that come into my home. I am trained to go potty outside, but do like to use those pee pads at the door. I walk perfectly on a leash, love to sleep beside you in the car, and prefer the woman of the house (men need to spend time with Bruno and give lots of nice talk and treats for him to be friends). To adopt Bruno Mars, please submit an application at PomPaws.org. His $250 adoption fee ($150 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), heartworm/lyme test, fecal, bloodwork, neuter, dental, and all the love you can handle!

Posted Breed: Pomeranian. Chulo is searching for his forever home! This gorgeous boy is 7 pounds and 7 years old. He is the sweetest, funniest, and most loving pommy boy you will ever meet! Chulo came to us after his elderly owner could no longer care for him and the extended family noticed he may have some health issues. Poor Chulo is diabetic, but easily maintained on a small dose of insulin twice a day. Even though he is newly diagnosed, he is well regulated and accepting of his shots. We truly hope his diabetes does not scare potential adopters away because it is a manageable illness and he has a long life ahead of him. Chulo loves all humans, but does not tend to get along with other dogs so we are seeking a home where he is the only canine. Chulo enjoys playing, getting belly rubs, and even likes to romp with the kitty cat in his foster home on occassion. Chulo does wear a belly band as he does mark on rare occassions. He is crate trained, leash trained, and even knows commands. This little guy adores older children as well so we can see him being a good fit for almost any home. We will teach you everything you need to know to care for Chulo so won't you find it in your heart to give this amazing little guy his happily ever after? To adopt Chulo, please submit an application at PomPaws.org. His $250 adoption fee ($150 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella) heartworm/lyme test, fecal, microchip, blood work, neuter, dental, and all the love you can handl e.

Posted Breed: Pomeranian. Hi I'm Cam or as my foster mom calls me, Charlie! I'm an older gentle soul that is looking for a not so young family. I like watching tv, hanging out, and taking an occasional stroll around the yard. I'm not into leashes I prefer to just roam freely around a fenced yard so you must have a fence. I get along great with other dogs & even cats. I'm still nervous around people so I would prefer if your love, attention & patience with me was in a quieter home. You see I came from a puppy mill and was forced to breed for ten years of my life without human contact. This is why I am so scared. My hips are arthritic since they kept me in a cage for so long and I never got to stretch out my legs or even run. Now I am taking each day in and trying my best to enjoy new things. I would love if a family without young children would help me life my life to the fullest since I missed out on so much. Cam is a 10yo cream sable pomeranian that weighs 8 pounds. To adopt Cam, please submit an application at PomPaws.org. His $250 adoption fee ($150 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), heartworm/lyme test, microchip, blood work, neuter, and dental cleaning.

      Breed: Pomeranian

      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pomeranian (medium coat). Eli is a handsome 8-9 year old, 11-pound Pomeranian. He was picked up as a stray by a local shelter and transferred to our care with a tail injury. It was determined that he got his tail caught in something while he was out running on his own and he did what any animal would do to get free…he broke it. Fortunately for him, the break did not sever the blood supply and he was able to keep his tail. Unfortunately, his tail is paralyzed for life and will always hang straight down. We feel that he likely has bits of sensations as you will catch him chasing his tail from time to time. He has full control of his bladder and is 100% house trained. He has 99% control over his bowels, but every once in a while…maybe once a week…we might find an uncontrolled nugget. As long as he is trimmed short around that area, he requires less maintenance than our Pom with full coats. Eli is a pretty cool little dog who is fairly independent. He loves to chase laser lights just like a cat. He will bark at things he doesn’t understand…like the vacuum or Christmas lights. He loves to sleep above your head on the pillow. He is great with other dogs…he doesn’t play but coexists beautifully. He will let you know when he is hungry or needs to go outside. He would do best with a single person or couple without small children in the home. His only quirk is that we don’t think he was petted, groomed, or handled often. You will need time to develop trust with Eli before you can easily pet him below the shoulder blades. He would bite us at first, but it really didn’t hurt. Now we can talk him through it and let him know everything is just fine. Because of this, we also would not place him into a home with senior citizens. We hope you can see through the baggage and straight into Eli’s soul, because he really is a good, loyal companion. Eli’s adoption fee is $250 and includes his microchip, current vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordatella), HW/Lyme test, and recent dental cleaning. He was neutered prior to coming into our care. To give Eli a forever home, please submit an application at PomPaws.org.

Posted Breed: Pomeranian. See FOSTER HOMES NEEDED's HomepageGo to our official websiteYou can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Foster A Pomeranian Today! Too many Pommys are sitting in cold shelters, are being neglected and/or abused, and are no longer wanted by their current owners. Opening up your home temporarily to these Angels allows us to help save one Pom at a time! Without foster homes in rescue, many Poms don't stand a chance and are often euthanized for shelter space. PPR is a very reputable rescue and take pride in the love and care that we give to each and every one of our rescued Poms. We provide all medical care from spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchips, heartworm and fecal tests to any other care the vet recommends, such as X-rays, blood work, thyroid panels, dental work, casts and splints, special diets, etc. All we ask from our fosters is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help heal the physical and emotional trauma that many of these pups have gone through. If you can open your home to just one Pom, then that's one life saved. Please don't delay.
