Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello everyone! My name is Milton. I’m a beautiful year-old, 46 lb., male Standard Poodle. My foster mom says that I am a happy, silly boy! I am opening up and coming out of my shell more and more. I am going to be an awesome family dog. I listen really well and can be redirected from doing things foster mom doesn’t want me to do. I love to play with my furry buddies and am beginning to realize how fun it is to play with my elementary school age human foster brothers! I’m a little skittish in new places and going on car rides makes me a bit nervous. All of this is pretty new to me so it may take me a little bit of time to get accustomed. I am crate trained. I sleep in my kennel all night without a peep and like to nap in my kennel during the day but when I am ready to get out and play I will let you know with a howl. I bark when I am playing. It’s so fun and exciting to play that I must talk about it! I love to play with toys and have learned how to play fetch. I really love playing chase with my doggy friends. My stuffed Kong is so awesome. I am happy just thinking about it! I am beginning to trust people and ask for pets and love from my foster family. Potty training and leash training are works in progress. I need to be on a schedule for potty training. Because I am fearful of new things I will need a fully and securely fenced yard. I will also need another dog in the home to help me learn how to be the best dog I can be. I love to play with big dogs but don’t know what I would think of small dogs. I have only met cats at the vet and I wasn’t that interested in them after giving them a good sniff. I am fine with respectful kids under the age of 12 but it will take me a little bit to learn to trust any new people in my life including little ones. I’m a smart boy and a quick learner. I am learning the meaning of “kennel/crate”, “go potty” and “outside”. If my furever family gives me the encouragement and time I need to reach my best self, I will give all the love back ten-fold! **Grooming - this dog's coat may have been neglected before arriving at Underdog and it can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as poodles and poodle mixes require daily brushing. Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average $150 per appointment. Adopters should be prepared for such expenses. Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog. Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love.
