Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Mac is a two-year-old, mixed breed, happy-go-lucky guy! Weighing in at 58 lbs, Mac is ready for anything! Adventures hiking in the woods, exploring at the beach, or hanging out watching a movie, you will be sure to have a good time with this guy by your side. Mac has a playful warm-hearted personality that endears him to all he meets. His enthusiasm to learn is second to none. He has already mastered basic obedience and enjoys politely saying hello by giving you, his paw. Due to his enthusiasm, he can sometimes be a little bouncy on walks, but he is learning how to control himself and walk nicely at side. It is recommended that positive reinforcement training continue in order to help Mac reach his full potential. Mac has a good time romping around with other dogs. But his feeling about cats remains unknown. He is both house trained and crate trained. Mac would make a great addition to your household! The adoption fee for Mac is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
