Tucker is a really good boy and has done over 12 weeks of professional training to help him be his very best self and learn to navigate the world through his anxiety with having vision problems. When Tucker was first rescued, he had to have entropic surgery by his first adopters. This lead to some issues with his sight after, though much improved in his pain and function of course! He takes meds, and needs eye drops but due to his limited vision he needs someone who is patient and kind. His favorite thing to do is rest on the couch, had a good treat and wander the yard and get sniffs. He needs someone who can help him continue to build his confidence and let him feel safe. He would also do really well in a home with another dog that would help him feel safe and help him navigate situations (i.e. his own seeing eye dog). Tucker is kind, gentle, quiet, easy going and just an all around good boy. He is a trainer favorite and comes with full training support to the right home to help him adjust and have the best chance at success! Adopter MUST live in the Triangle Area of North Carolina due to his professional training team and center being in Cary, NC. Tucker also needs annual ophthalmology appts as well, but this was just done on 11/25 so adopter will not need to do a revisit for 12 months. All Animals Sanctuary & Rescue (AASR) provides all dogs with sterilization, and the following vaccines: Lepto, Bordetella, Rabies, & DHPP. All dogs are 4DX tested, which includes heartworm testing. If any parasites are found, they are treated, including heartworms. We are transparent about any chronic health conditions that are not treatable with actute rescue care.
