Description
Dog Breed: Entlebucher / Mixed (short coat). Hi, my name is Charlie and I'm about 10 months old. I was rescued by Bond County Humane Society from Montgomery County Animal Control. I was at Montgomery County Animal Control because I had been abandoned. I am believed to be one of the breed of Swiss herding dogs. I am lively and friendly. I am very intelligent and energetic so any training routine should include fun and variety to keep me from getting bored. I am a good candidate for obedience, agility, herding and almost any other canine sport. I should have a family that likes to do various activities like hiking, running, etc. I need daily exercise to be happy. I have been good playing with another dog at the shelter. I have seen cats, but have not been up close and personal to one. I am working on my manners. I do know "Sit" and working on more. I am very smart and willing to learn. My breed is known to be good family companion. If there are children in a home I would do best with older children. I might be house trained. I am available for immediate adoption. I am neutered, UTD on vaccinations, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped. My adoption fee is $200. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
