Description
Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier. Sully is a 4 yr old 50 lb neutered male Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix. He came from a kill shelter in SC on the euthanasia list due to lack of space in the shelter. Because he was very sweet we were asked to pull him from the shelter, which we did and transported him to our rescue in Pa! We already started him treatment and will be completely cured. We have done this 100s of times! Sully is microchipped and fully vaccinated except for Lyme vaccine, which we can do after heartworm treatment if adopter chooses! He is dog and people friendly. Not cat friendly when we tested him. He deserves a loving home! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Sully please text Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs . Our other adoptable pets our posted on our website as well as the very brief (5 minutes) application form. rescuepetsservingvets

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
