Dog Breed: Border Collie / Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300. KENNEL ID #18804 Toby is smart and very loving towards his people. He knows basic commands and has a pretty good recall. He was initially adopted from Diane's as a young puppy, November 2023. His previous owners became concerned with his behavior towards one of their three children. He growled and snapped at the child a few times while he was in his crate. He was fine 99% of the time but it was extremely scary for their kids and not something the husband wanted to work with. The wife said Toby was very attached to her but frightened of her husband and would submissively urinate and tremble around him. We have found him to be very leery of men and head shy. He does not do well meeting new people while he is in his kennel or crate. He is a timid boy but once you get to know him, he will be your best friend. He is currently in an awesome foster home where he is being socialized with men, children, other dogs, goats, and horses. His foster home recommends him going to a knowledgeable home or one that is willing to work with him to feel safe. Toby is currently living with two men and two women in the house, he can get used to men with time and kindness. Some men he is more cautious with, same with some kids.
