Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Great Dane (short coat). The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application first by visiting our website at .dachshundpaws Louie is a 7 month old Mastiff/Great Dane mix. Louie is a red merle. Louie is shy in new situations. He takes a little more time to trust people. Louie loves to play with his siblings. He uses his huge paws and smacks his siblings to let them know it is wrestle time. Louie needs a confident playful dog sibling in his new home to help show him the ways. Louie is dog door trained and loves the freedom to go outside to play and then come back inside to nap. With access to the doggie door he has never had an accident inside. Louie is a sweet boy, who just needs a little patience to help him become a good canine citizen. Louie's adoption fee: $500 We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found. Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day. Please visit our website at .dachshundpaws

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
