Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Knish is a sweet, affectionate puppy who’s equal parts playful and snuggly. He loves a good romp followed by a long nap curled up beside his favorite humans—preferably somewhere cozy, like in front of a warm fire or during a Netflix marathon. This little lovebug gives kisses like they’re going out of style and wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He’s a bit more shy and cuddly than his brother, but once he feels safe, his loving personality shines through. Knish also has a curious side and enjoys quietly watching the world go by. He’s a food-motivated sweetheart who would thrive in a calm, patient home that can help him continue building confidence as he grows. Knish is looking for a home with another social, playful pup—or one that has a plan to prioritize his socialization with other dogs, especially during this key stage of puppyhood! If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will fill your home with warmth, snuggles, and puppy kisses, Knish is your guy! Age: ~2 months old Animal ID#: A-180654 Weight: ~10-15 lbs (and continuing to grow!) Mixed breed (It’s impossible to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. We get to know each dog as an individual and strive to make matches based on personality, not on breed label.) Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
