Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Meet Clarke! The cutest little cattle mutt this side of the Mississippi! Clarke is the sweetest, most adorable, social little guy you've ever met! Clarke is currently living with other dogs and cats, he loves to play, play, play, but is also very respectful when other dogs tell him enough! Clarke is too busy playing with the other dogs to even realize he is loving with a cat. Clarke is a very typical 13 week old puppy! He is working on his house training and does well in his crate. Clarke can get a little mouthy when he's excited, because of this it is recommended he go home with kids 10 and older. Clarke is 13 weeks old, and 11 pounds. He is up to date on age appropriate vaccines, current on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, started on his deworming series and microchipped! Clarke is still too young to be neutered, but will be sent home with a neuter contract. Questions? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
