Description
Dog Breed: Great Dane. LOCATION: Medina, NY DOB: 02/14/2020 Meet Della Mae, a beautiful and affectionate Great Dane with a calm, soulful presence and a deep love for her people. This sweet girl is the definition of a gentle companion — she’s laid-back, loving, and happiest when she’s curled up close, soaking in all the attention she can get. Della Mae greets life with quiet enthusiasm and just the right amount of goofiness, making her an absolute joy to have around. She’s an expert cuddler and a total love bug, always using her paw or resting her head on you to remind you that petting time should never end. She makes strong eye contact and listens intently, always seeming to understand exactly what you’re saying. Della Mae is wonderfully polite — she doesn’t beg, counter surf, or bark much at all. She’s completely house-trained, knows all her basic commands, and will even wait patiently for permission before eating her meals. She’s a good listener, a sensitive soul, and just a little bit of a bed hog who thinks your lap was made for her. Della Mae enjoys her walks, especially when she knows it’s time for her favorite activity — fetch! Once she’s had her outing, though, she’s content to nap for the rest of the day. She does pull a bit on the leash and can get anxious in new environments, but she’s learning and responds well to calm reassurance. In the car, she’s a perfect passenger. This gentle girl has a few things she’s not a big fan of — baths, nail trims, and confinement. She’s not a crate dog and does best when she has the freedom to move around the home. She’s very trustworthy when left alone and will patiently wait for her person to come back. She’s also fine with cats, having lived peacefully alongside them in her previous home. Della Mae can be protective at times and may need slow introductions to new people, especially men, but once she decides someone is part of her circle, she gives her whole heart. Because of her sensitive nature, she’ll thrive in a calm, low-traffic home with an owner who’s around often. She’s not a dog who likes isolation — she truly needs to be with her people and part of the family. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Della Mae could be your perfect match. She’s sweet, smart, and full of quiet affection — a devoted friend who will make every day a little warmer just by being by your side. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! form.jotform/51994996709176 . Overview:
The Great Dane is an impressive and regal breed, often dubbed the "Apollo of Dogs" for its dignified stature and noble appearance. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence. Physically, Great Danes are characterized by their tall, muscular build, short coat (available in various colors like fawn, brindle, black, blue, and harlequin), and expressive eyes. Despite their formidable size, they possess a surprisingly gentle and affectionate temperament, making them wonderful family companions. They are known for being patient with children and generally get along well with other pets. While their size might suggest otherwise, Great Danes can adapt to apartment living if provided with sufficient daily exercise, as they are not overly energetic indoors. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to bloat (gastric dilatation-volvulus), hip dysplasia, and certain heart conditions, necessitating careful breeding and regular veterinary check-ups. Overall, a Great Dane offers a loving and loyal addition to the right home.
