Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog. Lex is a young pup! 14 lbs. Likely a cattle dog/Lab mix based on his appearance, but he was found as a single stray dog off the side of the road in Lexington, SC. Our rescue was asked to help find him a home and complete all his vaccines in the future and that is what we always do! We will neuter him after adoption when he is 6 months of age. In the meantime we will adminster all vaccines and boosters when needed and will will microchip him before adoption and Heartworm test him at 9 months of age. So his adoption fee covers all Things needed and neutering him . He deserves a loving home. And we will also cat test him soon! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Lex please text me Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs . Our other adoptable pets our posted on our website as well as the very brief (5 minutes) application form. rescuepetsservingvets

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
