Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 410. MELO (watch my video!) Male 2 years old Pit bull terrier 40 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Good with dogs, cats and kids! This sweet, happy-go-lucky pup is looking for a new forever family. Melo is a joyful, tail-wagging bundle of energy who’s ready to bring sunshine into your life! This 40-pound sweetheart is the full package: playful, affectionate, and always up for an adventure. Whether he’s romping around the yard, chasing a ball, or on a road trip, Melo does it all with a big smile and a bigger heart. His current family wishes he could stay with them but, sadly, Melo's father suddenly passed away and his family cannot give Melo the time and exercise he needs so LOVEPAWS is stepping in to help find Melo a new home. He’s gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and kids (because of his enthusiasm, houses with very small children are not recommended). Melo is the perfect addition to just about any family--he is house-trained, crate-trained, and takes his monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention like a champ and comes with a crate, leash and the doggie gear you need. He is ready for hiking adventures, running and any activities that you have in your active lifestyle. When it’s time to wind down, Melo transforms into a snuggly lovebug who just wants to be near his people. He’ll happily curl up beside you for a nap, follow you from room to room, or roll over for belly rubs. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection and keep you smiling every day — Melo is your guy. Interested in adopting this lovable goofball? Of course you are! Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
