Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Sage! Sage is a stunning American Pitbull Terrier. She was found chained up in the woods left to die. Animal control saved her and her identical twin brother Cheeseburger, and they have been with us ever since. She gets along well with some dogs. She is looking for a terrier savvy owner that understands the breed. Sage is spayed and current on shots. From Sage’s foster dad – “Sage is a very smart girl. When I get her to do something I want her to do, by opening or closing her inside and outside dog doors — I can only use that trick once and she is on to it. She loves back rubs and neck scratches and is very loving.” She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Sage is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT SAGE!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
