Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). This handsome 3-year-old neutered German Shepherd named Kenny arrived at the shelter in August and is still hopeful youâll come visit him! Kenny scored a day trip with one of our volunteers and it turns out heâs an awesome hiking and running buddy. He would make a fun companion for someone who likes to go on walks, run the trails, or enjoys exploring nature. While he still has some playful energy, heâs good at keeping himself entertained with a toy/ball, or settling down in a crate for quiet time. Kenny appears to be non-reactive toward other dogs but he may want to play with them. He did well with the volunteerâs dogs, though we always recommend slow introductions with any newly adopted pet and existing family pet(s). He also has potential to coexist with a cat with proper introductions. If you have a dog and would like to check compatibility with Kenny, bring your dog for a dog-to-dog introduction at our shelter. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
