Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Meet Sally — the One-Ear-Up, One-Ear-Down Wonder Dog! If you’ve been searching for a sweet, wiggly love bug, congratulations: you’ve found her. Miss Sally is a professional snuggler who will happily lean her whole heart into you for pets. Sit down for two seconds and she’ll be right there, ready to assist with all affection-related tasks. Once outside, Sally starts out like a dog who’s just heard the shredded cheese package open. Give her a little time in the yard and she settles beautifully, showing off her softer, calmer side. She adores playing with toys, especially anything she can toss, chase, or proudly parade around like treasure. Her leash manners need a bit of polishing (she pulls like she’s determined to get all her steps in), but truly, she’s just thrilled for adventures beyond kennel walls.Sally is super smart and very treat motivated. She knows “sit,” catches treats like a pro, and is working hard on “down.” And the ears—one up, one down, always—like she’s tuned to two different radio stations. She’s shown polite curiosity toward other dogs without any reactive behavior. What she needs now is a home where she can exhale, play, snuggle, and shine. Sally is waiting for you. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
