Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). #A5730359 Petunia is a 1-year-old, 49 lb spayed female blue Pitbull with the sweetest personality and a resilient spirit. Found as a stray on October 2, 2025, she arrived with serious wounds to her neck and shoulders — likely from an old collar injury or trauma. After surgery and weeks of care, Petunia has fully healed and is ready for her second chance. Her scars tell a story of strength, but her gentle, loving nature shows she’s left the past behind. Petunia is calm, friendly, and great with people and other dogs. She enjoys light play with gentle companions, takes treats softly, and loves giving kisses. She walks well on leash, appears housebroken, and has a perfect medium energy level — playful when it’s time to play and relaxed when it’s time to rest. Petunia’s sweetness and calm confidence make her the perfect “starter pittie” for any loving home. -1 year old, spayed female, 49 lbs -Pitbull, blue coat -Found as a stray on 10/2/2025 -Calm, friendly, and affectionate -Gentle/dainty play style; great with large dogs -Medium energy level; good on leash and housebroken -Takes treats gently and loves giving kisses -Fully healed from prior neck and shoulder wounds -Adoptable on health waiver for healed scars -A loving, gentle companion with a heart as beautiful as her smile PETUNIA’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/FFNJLfftfr8 For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaaunitedhopeforanimals ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
