Dog Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound (short coat). We take the dogs that are adopted down...so if a dog is on the website they are available. Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups. Completion certificate for training needs to be emailed once complete. I love hugs, I’m a true “good boy,” and I can’t get enough of water—especially if there’s a hose nearby I can tap it for you. I’m all about playing with my rope toys and savoring the chance to be by your side. I’m the kind of dog who shines when I have a friend around to share the day with. I’m a Purebred Treeing Walker Coonhound, and I look just like the pictures in the books. I enjoy staying active and exercising, but I also appreciate quiet moments of lounging. I’m at my happiest when someone is nearby to give me attention and snacks. I love car rides and long walks, and I’m wonderfully friendly with people and other pets. I’ve met dogs of all sizes and even a three-legged cat, and I got along with them all. My journey hasn’t always been easy. I spent five days at San Antonio Animal Hospital while they helped me try to find a new home. The staff said I was a perfect gentleman and a great dog, and I’ve carried that pride with me. I’ve also spent time with a kind soul that rescued me from my backyard days of being lonesome, who has given me a lot of love and a lot of snacks. I’m a dog who thrives on companionship and hates being left alone in a backyard for long stretches—lonesome days aren’t my favorite. I’m ready for a forever home where I’m cherished and included in everyday life. I’d do best with an active family or someone who enjoys outdoor adventures but also wants a loyal, loving couch companion. If you’re looking for a devoted buddy who will adore you for life, I’m your guy. Hunter is ready to be the best friend you’ve always wanted. Hunter's adoption fee is $400 - obedience training is required after adoption and fully enclosed front or backyard is also required.
