Description
Dog Breed: Boxer. 11/10/2025 Garnet II is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is Garnet II! I am a beautiful 5 year old fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to me staying in my backyard most of the day, escaping it, and a neighbor threatening harm to me. I am described as friendly, active, calm, playful, quiet, and obedient! I get along well with other dogs and my owner says I would prefer to have dog siblings. I am said to do fine with cats as well and will cuddle and groom them as if they were my babies. As for kids, they are my favorite and I love them more than adults! I currently live with two kids (ages 12 and 13 years) and will mother anything smaller than me! I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep on the humans bed, couch, or kennel. If the humans must be away and I am left alone, I am fine and calm. When outside I do not attempt to jump fences/gates but will dig under them or under the grass to find out what is there. I am fearful of loud bangs and fireworks and don't like people blowing in my face, but some of my favorite things are riding in the car, any stuffed toy, playing fetch, playing tug, going for walks, and treats! If you think I would make a great addition to your family contact the rescue and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
