Dog Breed: Shih Tzu. At 11 years old, Jada has mastered the art of love and loyalty. This beautiful little Shih Tzu may be a senior and have a few special needs, but don’t let that fool you — she’s full of life, love, and personality. Jada is the kind of dog who just gets you. She’ll gently let you know when it’s time to go outside and reward you with a wagging tail and a grateful glance. Once she’s back inside, she’s all about cuddles, cozy blankets, and quality time on the couch. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who’s perfectly content to spend lazy afternoons snuggled up by your side, Jada is your girl. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Overview:
The Shih Tzu, affectionately known as the "lion dog," boasts an ancient and regal lineage, originating from the Tibetan plateau and further refined in imperial China. These charming canines are easily recognized by their striking appearance: a small, sturdy build, a distinctive undershot jaw, and a long, flowing double coat that often requires regular grooming to prevent matting. Temperamentally, Shih Tzus are renowned for being affectionate, outgoing, and playful companions, making them wonderfully suitable for a variety of households. Their adaptable and generally good-natured disposition means they often thrive in families with children and are particularly well-suited for apartment living due to their modest exercise requirements.
