Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Luna – The Sweet Soul Who Deserves Her Second Chance Meet Luna, a beautiful 5–6-year-old Cane Corso who lost her home when her family moved away. Despite that heartbreak, Luna’s spirit remains gentle and full of love. She’s an easy-going girl who gets along wonderfully with both big and small dogs, and she’s great with kids too. We believe she’s also good with cats, making her the total package for a calm, loving home. Luna is crate-trained, house-trained, and has been absolutely fantastic in her foster home. She’s the kind of dog who simply wants to be part of the family again — loyal, loving, and ready to give her heart to someone who won’t leave her behind. This sweet girl truly deserves her second chance at life. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
