Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: $150. Hazelnut would be a great addition to any family. She is good with kids and dogs. She has a very low maintenance coat. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please complete an online application at .cvrr.us Due to high demand we anticipate multiple applications for each dog. Our volunteers will review each submitted application, then contact the top 3 most appropriate ones by either email or phone. Calling or emailing us to see if you are being considered will not expedite the process. If you have been selected for an interview we will contact you within 48 hours of submission. Thanks for your patience. Many of our dogs can be seen at Petsmart in Visalia every other Saturday between 10 and 2.

Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
