Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed (medium coat). Please call the shelter directly if you are interested in this companion animal. The Email address is not monitored daily. 949-492-1617. I LOVE TO: Run around and play in the yard, and be around people. I HAVE: Lived with other dogs in a previous home. I have a sweet and goofy personality. I GET ALONG WELL WITH: Family members of all ages. I WOULD RATHER NOT: Be an outside dog, or be left alone for long periods of time. I NEED: Puppy obedience training, a yard to play in, and a home with a yard and a high fence. I need a loving family to call my own! I AM: A mastiff mix who's absolutely convinced he's a pocket-sized lap dog. With a charming, soulful face and a wonderfully goofy spirit, he'll lean his whole heart into you-and maybe his whole body too. If you're looking for a big, soft swirl of joy who brings laughter and love in equal measure, he's your guy.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
