Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Honey is 3 years old and is a recent rescue as in the beginning of the year rescues. The vet confirmed that she is not fixed and she was microchipped, but her owner did not register her. She has not had any health issues whatsoever and loves to cuddle and play. She is long haired and requires a lot of upkeep, so she does not become matted, and she does become matted very easily if she is not kept shaved down. She loves cats and loves to play with her doggy sister and may need another sister or brother of any animal, so she is not lonely and get her energy out as she is quite hyper and does require a lot of attention. She absolutely loves being outside and prefers it to being inside so this lets me know she was kept outside. She will sit for a treat but has not been further trained beyond that due to her attention span. She is kennel trained but was not completely house broken before we were forced to move. Due to financial reasons, she does need to be rehomed. **** Breed: Teddy bear **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2191100&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
