Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Hazel is a sweet and sensitive little lady who is looking for a home of her own! She came to us from a situation where she didn't have a lot of new experiences, so the world can be a bit overwhelming for her at times. Hazel is a snuggly little velcro dog and can be spunky and playful once she settles in! She is looking for a family who can help her adjust at her own pace and help her build confidence in a safe and fun way. Hazel is looking to be the only dog in the home, but might be able to live with a cat after a slow introduction.

Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
