Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hi, I’m Dig! I’m a 7-month-old cattle dog mix and about 35 pounds right now — I’ll probably grow to around 45, just the perfect size for cuddles AND adventures! I can be a little shy when I first meet you, but give me a minute and I’ll be your loyal little shadow. Once I feel safe, I never want to leave your side. My tail pretty much never stops wagging… I’m just a happy guy! I love all dogs — big ones, tiny ones, and everything in between! My favorite things in the whole world are cuddles, toys, and playing with dog friends. Oh, and I’ve got great manners already: I’m fully potty trained and crate trained. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle buddy who just wants to love you forever, I think we’d be perfect together. I can’t wait to meet my forever family! apply at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
