Description
Dog Breed: English Mastiff / Mixed. Introducing Mr. Snuggle Puff — a 2-year-old, 112-pound Mastiff with a head the size of your heart and a heart even bigger than that! This sweet, submissive gentle giant is the very definition of love on four paws — calm, loyal, and full of goofy charm. Mr. Snuggle Puff was surrendered after his previous owner didn’t have a fenced yard and he kept wandering off in search of love and adventure. But now this big baby is ready to find his forever family — one that will keep him safe, adored, and surrounded by affection for once and for all. Mr. Snuggle Puff is a dream companion. He appears to be housetrained, comes when called, and knows his basic obedience. He’s been amazing with kids and done great with other dogs, and would love to share his home (and maybe his giant dog bed!) with another friendly pup. This big boy has huge paws, an even bigger heart, and a personality that melts everyone he meets. He’s a staff favorite and a total social butterfly who loves making new friends — both human and canine. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when soaking up cuddles or rolling over for belly rubs. Mr. Snuggle Puff has been looking for love in all the wrong places, but his search ends here. He’s ready to find the family who will cherish him forever — a home full of soft beds, strong hugs, and endless love. If you’ve got room in your heart (and maybe on your couch) for one very big, very good boy, Mr. Snuggle Puff is your guy. Big head. Bigger heart. The biggest love. This dog was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
